Hotel is average in its class.

The hotel exceeded my expectations for a 3-star level. I really appreciated the free Wi-Fi and complimentary printing in the business center, (which is often not free even in 4-star hotels!) The staff was cheerful and friendly. The hotel restaurant (Riverside Cafe) wasn't too great, but the prices reflected this. I normally wouldn't have eaten there, but it was -25C outside!
Positives: Excellent location, free Wi-Fi, complimentary printing and coffee in the business centre.
Negatives: There was nothing I didn't like!

My only issue was the fact that I had to pay extra for parking, I believe it was $20/day extra. Besides that I enjoyed the hotel.
Positives: It was clean and nice.
Negatives: I had to pay extra for parking - this was not something I expected.

Everything (services, room size and room cleaning) looks good which can meet my expectations. Only not happy is parking fee is too expensive for the room guest.
Positives: Front desk receptionist was friendly. Room cleaning was OK.
Negatives: They charged too much for the parking.

The only thing that disappointed us was when we checked in and were surprised that we would have to pay for parking. The way it was described to us we could pay for valet parking but we should also check the rate for the city parking. That turned off my partner, who just went right out and paid for the city parking - even though it was more expensive. We would have had a much more pleasurable stay if we had known that parking was not included, knew the price and knew the cost of city parking and the limitations of city parking. It would have been so simple for the clerk to just say that unfortunately there was a charge for parking but that it was at a better rate than city parking. We would have just said - OK, no problem - we'll take the valet parking. In that case, nothing would have marred our hotel experience which, other than this one aspect, was excellent.
Positives: Loved having a corner room up high, great view on one side of the room.
Negatives: I wish I'd known up front that there would be a charge for parking.

Nice room in a great location downtown Edmonton.

Although parking was expensive (~$20 over night), we did stay at a prime location Downtown Edmonton. Hotel staff upgraded us to a larger room at no extra charge despite reservations through Priceline. Very clean room and linens, but disliked the layout of the washroom. Big, no counters and just a small ledge to place toiletries/ cosmetics/ clothes. Otherwise, great hotel. Good choice for the price.
Positives: Clean room & linens.
Negatives: Expensive parking, large uncomfortable pillows (personal preference).

All you paying for is the name, there is no swimming pool or gym and no flat screen TV, parking is ridiculous. it costs 30 a night outside and 22 for valet, at the coast hotel down the street parking is 10 bucks.
Positives: The icebox.
Negatives: There was no swimming pool or gym, parking is way overpriced, and no flat screen TV.

This hotel is located on the a ridge overlooking a river valley, the staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean, there is no pool or spa which is unfortunate.
Positives: Location, friendliness, and comfort level.
Negatives: Parking was a private lot, it was 12 dollars more than a lot 4 blocks away run by the same company.

The hotel is right on the edge of a cliff overlooking the river valley with spectacular views. Some of the rooms are conventional and some are very large but unusual, with the closet in the washroom. The floor in my room was never cleaned properly and litter from the previous guest was not removed in three days. The public spaces and halls are a bit worn. Downtown Edmonton has very little that is attractive and there are many panhandlers and drunks in the area near the front of the hotel. It is not up to the usual Marriott standard but still is very good and I would stay there again as it is as good as anything in the area and with the best views. An excellent value and a very high 2.5*, could be 3* with better cleaning and some repairs.
Positives: Convenient location for convention center.
Negatives: Poor cleaning - uninformed staff at desk.

It wasnt hard to find parking - but it was hard to decide which one belongs to the hotel! The absence of a valet person outside of the hotel didn't help my case. The entire '15-minute valet parking' were all taken, so I did not know where to put my car. Add that to the 'you dont look like you can pay for this room so Ill just ignore you' attitude of the front staff made it all so frustrating. Bathtub wasn't draining too well so it floods every time I would take a shower. I like the free internet though - rare complimentary amenity for Marriott hotels.
Positives: Free internet. And awesome view from the restaurant in the lobby.
Negatives: The view from my room looked like I was in a prison or cage.

Generous staff, beautiful rooms, great view!
Positives: View, valet parking, generous staff.
Negatives: It's bordering on the sketchy area of town.

It was very nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay there again.
Positives: The cleanliness.
Negatives: That we only had one bed in our room.
