The Boscawen Inn reviews

Additional details

The Boscawen Inn is the perfect base from which to explore Lunenburg in the winter - enjoy the quiet snow lined streets of Old Town Lunenburg, the hustle of unloading the catch and restocking supplies on ships at the busiest fishing harbor in Canada, tour the fleet of Gothic churches (amongst the oldest in Canada) or simply relax in front of a fireplace with a glass of mulled Nova Scotia cider.

One does not have to stay at the Boscawen Inn in order to taste its magic. Two fully liscensed restaurants offer either a candle lit dinner for the romantic couple or casual dining with a panoramic view of the harbor. Alternatively customers may be attracted by an afternoon BBQ on the balcony or afternoon tea in the historic drawing rooms.

The formal dining room serves guests from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and is located in the two former drawing rooms of the historic mansion. The experience of authentic Maritime hospitality and fine dining under candelight in an historic setting is one that guests tend to savor for a long time.

From the large balcony, customers can relax with a drink, enjoy an afternoon BBQ, or simply escape into the past as birds chirp and a schooner slips out to sea. Peridically one can hear the distinct sound of a horse drawn carriage. The evening silence is often broken by the haunting cry of a fog horn.

A full breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in our casual dining room. Guests from all parts of the world tumble out of four poster beds in the morning at the Boscawen Inn and McLachlan House to strike up conversation over freshly baked muffins and coffee.
