Stayed for the weekend. Hotel was very clean and modern. Staff were friendly. Room was spacious and clean and had a nice view over the lake ... especially nice in the morning with the sun coming up. Location is a little way out of the center of Halifax but for us was within walking distance of Quinpool and stores / restaurants etc. Hill is a bit of a climb if walking but is certainly manageable. Would certainly stay there again.
Positives: Really easy to drive to ... just follow the main bypass around Halifax and you are there with no delays. Really clean and tidy.

Best Western has renovated this hotel to the point that you would never know that it was abandoned and boarded up for many years. However, some of the wings of the hotel still reflect that they were once a lower tier hotel (weird layouts of hallways, Drive up rooms etc.)
I had to take an elevator to my room on the third floor but then had to walk down a set of stairs (5) to get to my room. Not very good if you have a lot of luggage. The hotel was very busy, due to a large event, and parking was nonexistent. I had to make my own parking spot. Also, lots of people milling around entrances smoking made the property seem to be a bit sketchy.
Positives: Hotel has come a long way from when it was Keddy's and Abandoned for several years.
Negatives: My room felt very old despite many updates.

Negatives: I have nothing negative to say about the place.

They do not serve real eggs for the buffet in the morning. No bacon or ham, just sausage. Room was adequate and clean and that is what mattered most.
Positives: The view of the lake.
Negatives: Reception area was unattractive.

When booking we were not told of the additional charges that would be assigned to us for an extra bed. Their attitude was unacceptable and unfriendly, was not impressed with this. The private entrance was nice. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone to the staff.
Positives: It was close to where we needed to go. The view was beautiful! Liked the private entrance.
