We recently stayed at Pt Pleasant Lodge for my surgery I had done. I was required to stay in the city for 2 nights so we stayed there. The prices was over $540, no breakfast was included, was had to pay for parking and we didn't even have a microwave in our room. We did have a mini fridge and 2 beds as requested. The bathroom was ok but no hair dryer and the ice machine was broken they told me (I needed ice after my surgery). Also, no straws or cups (we had to buy some at Walmart) and when asked for 2 or 3 extra face clothes they gave my husband 1 hand towel.
We will not be back. For approx $20 more we could have stayed at the Lord Nelson hotel.
The positive was the location was quiet, safe and a nice area. The staff were polite, but gave us the wrong check out time.
Also, the elevator was expired in Dec 2023, and the lights went out when we went to check out.

Positives: Location
Very quiet

Negatives: Over priced
No breakfast or restaurant
Ice machine broken
No hair dryer
No microwave
No dishes (except 1 plastic cup)
Gave us wrong check out time
Elevator is out of date and the lights were out when checking out

It is sad for a non profit organization to take advantage of people who are need of a place to stay while love ones are in hospital or recoperating from a procedure. This lodge offers 2 star lodging but charges you 4 star prices for everything. It is cheaper to stay at a hotel and pay patients rate. You will have free parking and free WiFi. Also you would have a fridge and coffee maker in your room. The owners of Point Pleasant Lodge should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people in need.

Negatives: Staff are unfriendly, rooms are not as clean as they should be, sheets and blankets have holes in them, rooms are too hot, who charges $10 for internet??, the prices for the food in the cafeteria is overpriced.

Recently members of my family stayed at Pt. (non) Pleasant Lodge. A family member had surgery at the Hospital in Halifax which required us to stay a few days. While the rooms were somewhat clean, I cannot begin to describe the rude and abrupt manner in which the hotel staff treated my family. I think I have may seen one smile come out of the desk staff. The desk staff seem to have forgotten manners in the form of courtesy. Such as "Good Morning", "Thank You", "Your Welcome", "How are You". Especially when this is a hotel where day surgery patients are staying or family who's love ones are in the hosptial.

There is no parking available unless you are one of the luck ones to get a parking pass. (which is usually doubtful).
I would never stay at Pt. (non) Pleasant again!

Positives: No positives!

Negatives: All negative!
