Steps from the inner harbor, downtown core, offers great convenience. Rooms are large include all amenities and would be great for a romantic weekend away or business travel. The little extras in the room are a great touch. Continental breakfast was included.

Positives: Location, good size room, provided great selection of complimentary toiletries.

Negatives: Construction in the morning, and street in front of hotel room.

Great hotel right in the middle of downtown Victoria. I would definitely stay there again.

Positives: Very nice hotel, excellent location, and great staff.

Negatives: Breakfast buffet was just ok.

Gorgeous hotel - nice size, the staff was very helpful. We stayed at 5 hotels during this vacation and we all (4) agreed that this was by far the best hotel! Included in the other other hotels were a Hyatt, a Hilton and Renaissance.

Positives: Fabulous accommodations and staff - the breakfast was included and great!

Negatives: Loved it!

The hotel is perfectly located near Inner Harbor and shopping. The staff are very customer-oriented and will provide you with many insights into Victoria. The small size of the hotel makes it very intimate and the rooms are very well-appointed.

Positives: All of staff were incredibly customer-oriented.

Negatives: The continental breakfast was very good and we liked it, however, it's basically the same as in hotels with fewer stars.

We loved this hotel and wished we could stay longer. We will be back whenever we visit Victoria. The staff were fantastic and the rooms lovely. I can find no fault with this great boutique hotel.

Positives: Friendly, young, enthusiastic staff and beautiful rooms.

Negatives: As a tea drinker I recommend they place a small kettle in the room.

Among the nicest guest rooms in Victoria. Fantastic location for business.

Positives: Beautiful guest rooms, very nice staff.

Negatives: Included breakfast was skimpy.

We had looked at the Magnolia's website before booking. They listed king or queen beds as a standard room so we went with them. But when we asked for a king room explaining we have sleeping in a king bed for 30 years and we find it hard to sleep in anything else at this point, they refused. First they told us the hotel was full. Then someone else told us we could get one but at $60 more per night! Bad customer service! We had two sleepless nights and arrived home more worn out than rested! Our weekend of relaxing was ruined thanks to the staff on the front desk. We will never go back and can't recommend it to others.

Positives: It was clean and had a bath tub.

Negatives: Because we got such a good deal on Priceline.com they treated us badly and gave us the worse room they could find.

One of the finest hotels I've ever stayed in and I used to be in the hotel business.

Positives: Excellent location, cleanliness of rooms and linens, comfortable bed, great bathtub and spa products.

Negatives: Front desk was too small to accommodate multiple check ins comfortably.

The location is good and the Spa is better. Very nice room.

Positives: The hotel is in a good location, close to the inter-harbor area including float plane and ferry landings.

Negatives: Nothing.

Although small, it's a lovely hotel. There is a convenient continental breakfast in the morning and the staff is really friendly and helpful.

Positives: Very friendly and helpful staff.

Negatives: We were put on the 2nd floor. It would have been nicer to be on a higher floor.

Room was clean, but too small for the price. It was located close to most of the sites I wanted to visit downtown. Staff was friendly.

Positives: The room was clean and located near sites I wanted to visit.

Negatives: For what is offered if should not be considered a 4 or 5 star hotel. Cost too much.

Good value for Victoria and the location is great. Just one block from the water front, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. Very helpful staff!

Positives: The staff was very attentive and helpful and their restaurant suggestions were spot on!

Negatives: The free breakfast (not really free at this room price) was very basic and bland.

Excellent hotel, staff was very courteous, always smiling and helpful. They offered activities and sites to see for the day. I had made the wrong dates for reservations, they said not to worry, gave us an upgrade and helped me get through an embarrassing situation. All in all, this was the highlight of our hotel stays while traveling on the west coast, we are from Florida.

Positives: The concierge loaned us an umbrella, while also helping us arrange transportation to Butchart Gardens.

Negatives: The bathtub was not a Jacuzzi.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was excellent and the staff was great. The continental breakfast was one of the better ones we have experienced and it was served in the restaurant rather than a "meeting room" which was much more comfortable. The toiletries in the room were Aveda and were replenished every morning. The hotel lobby has a comfortable classy seating area and coffee and tea are available to you at any time and there are both travel cups and mugs to choose from. We will stay here next time we go and have already recommended it to friends and family. Victoria has a lot to offer and it is nice being able to leave the car at home and still see it all while being able to stay at an upscale hotel.

Positives: The staff was accommodating and helpful and the location was excellent.

Negatives: The gym on site is a hotel room with a few pieces of equipment.

Overall the hotel was very nice. Only negative for us was the pool. We chose this hotel in part because it appeared there was a pool, when in fact the hotel provides a free pass for the YMCA 1.5 blocks away. Well, there is a big difference for us between riding an elevator to the pool, and walking 1.5 blocks to the YMCA, especially in February. We probably wouldn't have selected this hotel if we had understood the pool arrangement. Also, this hotel accepted pets, but only with a $60 cleaning fee. The fee applies to your entire visit, but is rather expensive if you are staying only one night.

Positives: Very nice overall, staff extremely friendly.

Negatives: No pool, needed to use the YMCA.

This Holiday Inn is an adequate hotel for a business traveler to Victoria. Nothing elaborate and a very ho-hum restaurant. It would not be a good choice for vacationers. It is quite far from the attractions in Downtown. Be wary of the "on premise laundry facilities". There is one washer and one dryer for 200+ rooms.

Positives: It is close to University of Victoria.

Negatives: The rooms are very plain.

Nice, clean facility with very charming staff. The continental breakfast was a real treat. We also appreciated our very comfortable reading area in the room. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to see the sights because you can walk anywhere!

A lovely place to stay that felt to be home away from home. I would not hesitate booking the hotel for travel to Victoria.

Positives: Small boutique hotel reflecting an intimate atmosphere. Only drawback being we did not want to leave our lovely accommodations for sight-seeing.

Negatives: Always it seems when you pay a price for high quality you are condemned to the added charge for parking.

We were not given access to our room until after 4:30pm, even though we arrived at 11 am, checked in, and were told to return at 3pm. (if they know you are waiting and tired, can't they specifically clean your room first?) It's not that large of a hotel. There is no pool or hot tub, and the fitness center is a joke. The rooms were spacious and nicely done. Ask for a corner room up high with a view of the harbor. The hotel management should know that the woman checking guests in (Emma) is not very friendly or customer oriented. I had the valet come over and "rescue" me when I asked her a simple question and she was rude to me, even he seemed embarrassed by her behavior. In general, hotel seems understaffed. Other than the staffing issues, the property itself is very nice.

Positives: View from corner rooms, proximity to sights.

Negatives: N/A

The Magnolia has a perfect location. Located directly in the shopping area of Victoria, all attractions are located closely to this hotel. The amenities made me not want to leave the room. Great mini bar stocked with fun items as well as the normal alcohol, and at a fairly reasonable price (The beer was cheaper in the mini bar than at the pub). We opted for the champagne. The bathroom was very nice, and had Aveda brand toiletries. Plus a bath fizz, which was fun. Although we didn't take advantage of the Aveda spa which was located on our floor, our stay was much more than anticipated. We highly recommended the Magnolia.

Positives: Unexpected niceties like an apple w/ caramels and chocolates.

Negatives: There is nothing. This is one of the top hotels I have ever stayed in.

Would never stay here again. Given the worst room on 2nd floor. Heard traffic and was kept awake by loud air conditioner. Awaken by restaurant noise down below. Room smelled from restaurant. Very disappointed! Will not go back.
