Our room was dirty, no hair dryer, lamp didn't work, literally thread-bare sheets, gross carpet, awful! Luckily we only stayed one short night (we needed an inexpensive hotel for an early morning train to whistler.) We would have been better off sleeping on a park bench!
Positives: Nothing at all.
Negatives: Everything was awful.

Disgusting and not worth the price. Filthy chairs in lobby and hallways. Filthy carpeting. Filthy and smelly elevator. My room appeared clean. Bathroom was clean. Sheets seemed clean. Air Conditioning was working but not cooling the room. Great location.
Positives: Actual room was clean.
Negatives: Lobby and elevators are disgusting.

Good hotel for the price paid. Great location to downtown Vancouver.
Positives: Free parking.

If location is key, The Bosmans Hotel is a decent choice. The hotel is just a few blocks from the Civic Center, Robson Street, and the West End. But the hotel itself gives you the bare essentials. The rooms are clean and well-kept, and the free parking is great, but in a city known for it's beautiful buildings and pretty places, The Bosmans Hotel down-market looks and cheap amenities definitely make you pine for something nicer.
Positives: Good location and free parking in central Vancouver.
Negatives: Building felt a little like a dive, elevators smelled like wet dog.
