Graeme's House is a charming country cottage on a quiet street in Kitsilano in Vancouver's West Side. Built in 1926, it retains the charm of its origins, while exhibiting many modern up-to date features. For example, the fireplace and polished hardwood floors hearken back to an earlier era, while the recently added spacious back deck brings contemporary comfort. You will enjoy the tasteful renovations that have been executed over the years in keeping with the architecture and the spirit of the original house.
The Peony Room - Follow the stairs in the kitchen, up past the entrance to the balcony,,and along the hall to the Peony Room. An elegant pink, white and green theme prevails in this bright, cheerful room with cathedral-ceiling. The Peony Room features a double bed, antique chaise lounge and pine accessories. There are restful prints of West Coast vistas and vintage mirrors. A skylight reveals a view of roof-tops and adds to the light and airy atmosphere. The Peony Room has it's own telephone.
The Iris Room - This cool, restful room features a queen size bed and a rocking chair. The 'Iris' theme is created by the blue and white colour scheme and the stained glass window of graceful irises. You will also enjoy the artwork (including more optical illusions with windows!), the bay window and the arched french doors leading to a private little deck surrounded by trees at the front of the house. The Iris Room has it's own telephone.
The Cornflower Room - The Cornflower Room, with twin beds has a French Provincial feel with blue and yellow wallpaper and more blue glass bottles. It also features a lovely stained glass West Coast scene in the bay window. A glass door leads to a private aspect of the back deck, surrounded by flowers. The Cornflower Room has its own phone.
