Recently, on July 25, we stayed in Osoyoos overnight. Having visited there before, this seemed like an ideal stop again. We stayed at the Adriatic Motel at 5505 E Main Street. We were traveling with several other couples who also stayed at this motel.
The owner was anything but cordial when we checked in. The room and facilities appeared clean. The group of us decide to enjoy the outdoors and went to the patio area on the far side of the property. There were several picnic tables tables and lounge chairs. I sat at one of the picnic tables. Well imagine my surprise when my husband stood up from the table, and the table leg disintegrated, pinning my leg under the table. Our friends immediately lifted the table off my pinned leg - I was sitting across from my husband at the picnic table and when he got up, the leg on the corner where I was seated, dissolved. The picnic table leg was rotten. I was in a great deal of pain and left the patio area to get ice on my left leg. My husband, once done helping me, went to speak to the owner of the motel. The owner told us that we should have been more careful and offered no apology or compensation of any kind. In fact, the owner was once again, very rude.
We will never stay at this motel again and hope others heed our warning.
