Cowichan Bay accommodations include bed and breakfasts, vacation homes and a couple of hotels. Cowichan Bay is a large Bay on the East side of Vancouver Island and is accessed from a Sansun Narrows, a small body of water between Salt Spring Island and Vancouver Island. The Bay is large enough to catch on and offshore winds that make it perfect for sailing. Sansun Narrows protected by the high cliffs on Salt Spring Island offer protected water for kayakers and some of the best scuba diving spots on Vancouver Island.

In the centre of Cowichan Bay you can watch a traditional Coast Salish Native carving demonstration.

You are only minutes from Duncan, the City of Totems. Be sure to visit the Quw'utsun' Cultural and Conference Centre. This First Nations Centre offers visitors an authentic First Nations Experience including interpretive tours, traditional art work and food. l Art Work and Native Food. Turn left just after you cross the Cowichan River coming into Duncan from the south. The biggest draw to visiting tourists in Duncan is the totem poles, one of which is the widest in the world. There are free guided walking tours of the totems in the downtown area.

Just down the Road to the south you can find the Cherry Point Vineyard and from here you can begin a tour of the many Vineyards in the Cowichan Valley. Duncan also has one of the best farm markets on the Island. Just south of Duncan on the Island Highway. Check it out. The Cowichan River is a National Historic River and is excellent for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. Locate local guides in Duncan and Cowichan Bay. While in Cowichan Bay be sure to experience the Udder Guys ice cream parlor. There is an excellent Cheeze Farm just south of Cowichan Bay.

Located on the corner of Cowichan Bay Road and Botwood Lane in Cowichan Bay on beautiful Vancouver Island, our Victorian-style Bed and Breakfast accommodation towers over spectacular views of Cowichan Bay. Cowichan Bay is located southeast of Duncan BC and about 40 minutes north of Victoria British Columbia. Cowichan Bay is located in the heart of the Cowichan Valley. Cowichan received its name from the Coast Salish natives who originally populated the area and it means "the warm land". The rich culture, the arts and history of the aboriginal people that settled in the area are evident throughout the Cowichan.
