The Boathouse B&B

Brentwood Bay, British Columbia

The Boathouse B&B is a bed & breakfast located in Brentwood Bay.

The Boathouse - a unique, waterfront cottage on the shore of Brentwood Bay, a protected and scenic inlet, just twenty minutes from downtown Victoria.

Nestled in a secluded cove with entry from land or water, The Boathouse is ideal for one or two non-smoking adults. If you are seeking peace and quiet in a comfortable, natural setting, The Boathouse offers an oasis of serenity. Nature abounds at your doorstep!

Watch magnificent Bald Eagles, harbour seals, Great Blue Herons, cormorants, otters, a myriad of starfish and other wildlife from your waterfront getaway. The tranquil waters of Tod Inlet lead into a “mini fjord” with shale beaches suitable for picnics and exploring. The adjacent 2400 acre Gowland Tod Provincial Nature Park offers superb walking and hiking trails. The Brentwood Bay ferry leaves from nearby and it is your beautiful “short cut” to exploring more of Vancouver Island.

The Boathouse is a one bedroom waterfront cottage; not suitable for children or pets. The Boathouse was exactly that when it was built on the shore of Brentwood Bay in 1927 by a local man for his family. Since 1986, your hosts, Jean and Harvey Merritt, have operated it as a Bed and Breakfast cottage.

Our private dock is ideal for sunbathing and swimming during the summer months. If you own a boat or seaplane, you may moor it at the dock during your stay. The Boathouse features no-charge unlimited international long distance calls and secure high speed internet.

We also provide a dinghy with which you can make rowing trips (10 - 20 minutes) to nearby Butchart Gardens, to several waterfront restaurants, pub or to a parkland beach for a picnic.

Places to eat within 5km of The Boathouse B&B include Blue's Bayou Cafe, Seahorses Cafe, The Orient Restaurant, and Villages Pizza.

The queen size Beautyrest box spring and mattress with cozy triple brushed flannel sheets assures you of a wonderful night’s sleep. The cottage, with its covered porch, main room and cozy, seaward-looking library, offers you a quaint and relaxing setting in the company of our “Gund” bear and selection of oldies, jazz and classical CDs.
