Nice, but small resort. Miles from anywhere and only one restaurant and no shop. Didn't have any other choice but to drive for 35 miles to get some food. Lovely scenery.
Positives: Nice and clean.
Negatives: Miles from anyway, one restaurant and no shop.

The map indicates it is 4 miles from Jasper. We had to rent a car for two days at $160.00, just to get there and back to Jasper twice. The bed was uncomfortable, no phone in the room. Overall, a very bad experience. When I called to determine transportation they said a cab would be available, did not mention they were 35 miles out of Jasper.
Positives: Restaurant.
Negatives: Location, it is 35 miles from Japer, therefore not a Jasper hotel.

This lodge is the only one in Banff Park that is close to the Columbia Icefields, but I would suggest staying in Lake Louise or Banff. I would not rate it even a 1-star--torn wallpaper on the walls, water stains from roof leaks on the ceiling, no telephone to contact the front desk, tiny bathroom with no lighting over the mirror, poorest reception on a 1960's TV I have ever witnessed. Very disappointed!
Positives: It was located in Banff Park.
Negatives: Poor lighting the bathroom, the TV had only five channels (you could not see for the "snow" on the screen).

We were in this hotel on September 2007 and one day while we were visiting the Canadian rookies, someone who has the key of the room, so the door was unforced, got into the room, forced our suitcases and stole some belongings. We were talking to the manager of the hotel and he supposed that the burglar was one of the housekeepers and notified the situation to the police. However, the hotel didn't assume any kind of responsibility about the stolen goods. We do not strongly recommend you this hotel because your personal items could not be safe inside the room and you should not expect any support from the staff of the hotel if anything disgusting happens.
Positives: Falls.
Negatives: Any support from the staff of the hotel when somebody stole us.

Don't stay here! Beautiful spot, however the lack of cleanliness and unfriendly staff certainly tone down any enjoyment that was gained by the beautiful mountains, woods and water. Room was filthy; we were guaranteed a non smoking room due to my dad's allergies - we arrived to a very "smoked" up room and upon our return to the desk, were told to "open the door". Oh yeah that's just great when the screen door was thrashed and the mosquito's were on the war path. I would never ever stay at this filthy disgusting facility. Oh yeah, in their advertising they bragged about the wonderful hot tub - too filthy to use.
Positives: Lots of elk to see and the waterfall were lovely.
Negatives: Filthy facility from the "cabins" on down to the restaurant.

Too expensive. Funky and rundown place. No telephones or Internet. Poor value for the money. I would not recommend to anyone.
Positives: Close to hiking trail to nice waterfall.
Negatives: No telephones, light in bathroom burned out, old furnishings and a funky place. Too expensive too for what you get.
