This was the worse place I have ever stayed in. The room was extremely hot even though weather was pretty cool. The heat was on and you could not control it in the room. Other people were also complaining. We had to sleep with the windows wide open even though we were facing a back parking lot due to the extreme heat. Hotel was old and musty. The only thing it had going for it was location. I would not stay there again.

This was a very disappointing hotel. Old, bad towels, very dark. 19" TV with green color. I complained about the TV and they did nothing. I complained about the dark bathroom and they removed the cover on the florescent lights.

Positives: Location was close to downtown and shopping.

Negatives: Everything was negative past the location.

This hotel was definitely not a 3 star hotel, it could use a renovation for sure, it was also very noisy and extremely cold, the in room heater did not work. We tried the restaurant for breakfast one morning and were told that we were only allowed to have the buffet, that they were not serving from the menu, the buffet was small and the food was obviously kept out for quite a while.

Positives: I liked the location of this hotel, it was close to main attractions and good restaurants.

Negatives: I did not like the aesthetics of this hotel.

unbelievable lack of countertop space in bathroom area. Had to keep my toiletries on the floor! Didn't eat in the hotel restaurant because the prices were too high. We found other facilities nearby much more accommodating.

Positives: Very attractive exterior.

Negatives: No outdoor window, cabinet broken, door lock broken, lumpy mattresses.

We were given one hotel to go to, and then sent to another that was part of the family of hotels. I think we actually stayed at the Banff Inn. It was late; we were tired from hiking all day, so we just took the room and made the best of it. It really isn't very nice. But the sushi restaurant was good.

Positives: The sushi restaurant was pretty good. The waitress was alarmed at my order though, she said "That's raw you know."

Negatives: Lots of partying and noise. Not the cleanest, and very dated.

Not worth the price, small room. No air conditioning or temperature control. No windows in room. Very confusing layout, seemed like endless maze of halls.

Positives: Good location.

Negatives: Too expensive for a motel 6 quality room.

Excellent location. Restaurant was good, service in restaurant and front desk were both excellent.

Positives: Staff friendliness and location was awesome!

Negatives: The beds were uncomfortable, and the doors looked like they either needed repaired or were repaired badly.

Generally it's a nice hotel with convenient location, clean room, comfortable beds. However we were woken up by a terrible noise from other room or rooms twice in the evening. It looks like the sound proofing needs to be implemented. We were also disappointed that they didn't provide tooth brush and paste.

Positives: Cleanness, convenient location, comfortable beds.

Negatives: Terrible faucet noise from other room(s).

Hotel was conveniently located, but the atmosphere was very noisy with the rooms situated to overlook the lobby. The breakfast was mediocre, but in all fairness we were the last to the buffet before it closed. Dirty dishes were in the hall from check in to check out. It was overall mediocre.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Room situation and cleanliness.

The room was clean and comfortable, although small. Parking and internet were free and were available throughout. Easy to find, good location in Banff. The buffet breakfast at the restaurant was not too good: powdered eggs, undercooked bacon.

Positives: Free parking and wireless internet.

Negatives: Room was small, and restaurant was not the greatest.

Washroom has mold and mildew. Rooms have paper thin walls. Staff are not helpful - I checked out early rather than spend one more night in this terrible hotel.

Positives: Nothing other than location.

Negatives: Dirty, loud, impossible to sleep, poor facilities.

We were relieved when we arrived at the Ptarmigan. The rooms were fairly clean, the beds comfortable & the TV worked! We ordered room service late at night because the kids were "starving" and an hour later went to see where our food was. They had forgotten about us! It was nice to have underground parking. We didn't get a chance to try the pool, etc, but our major complaint is that the room was stifling hot in the night, and there was no thermostat. There was however, a fan provided, and if we would have been thinking clearly in the middle of the night, we would have put it to use.

Positives: Our children really loved the balcony & underground parking was nice.

Negatives: No thermostat in the room - the interior room was hot & uncomfortable in the night!

The hotel clerks were efficient, although not overly friendly. Layout was a bit confusing and elevators were a bit wonky, but if you followed the signage, you could find your way eventually (not logical). The hotel interior was pleasant. Rooms were clean & had the amenities that we required. I would recommend this hotel again.

Positives: Location was central; room was clean.

Negatives: Couldn't adjust temp in room & found it uncomfortable (no thermostat in room at all).
