Good for 2 couples traveling together there are 2 bedrooms and a common area in the middle.

Positives: We had a kitchenette and there was a outdoor area that you could eat your own cooked meals at.

Negatives: It was a far walk from downtown Banff.

This is a nice ski type lodge hotel. The layout is a bit maze like until you get used to it. The amenities are clean and functional. The room itself was a 4 twin bed kitchenette type suite. The kitchen and bathroom were between two bedroom type set ups. It was a very good layout that suited our needs perfectly.

Positives: It was convenient, clean and spacious with staff that was friendly, professional and accommodating.

Negatives: I almost had to pay twice at time of check out for the room due to some error but the mistake was handled quickly and professionally.

This will be a 3 star moderate. However, the only option available is 3 star-upscale. It is an excellent value for the price.

Positives: Free internet access, good price and proximity to downtown.

Negatives: Decor is a bit outdated. Prefer TV in living room.

Liked it, would go back, good location a few blocks from main Banff shopping, plenty of parking. Quiet, though our ground floor room had no view at all.

Positives: Beautiful room, large, large bathroom, robes.

Negatives: Only cookies at breakfast, no real creamer for coffee.

I thought it was a great value. A few blocks from the main action in Banff, lots of parking, nice room. Our ground floor room had no view at all, but a 30 second walk took you in the shadows of the Rockies. Nice robes, which was nice. No restaurant on premises but many close by. Would definitely stay again.

Positives: Spacious room, roomy bathroom, good location.

Negatives: No view, no real milk/cream in lobby for coffee.

I would stay here again, however I had been promised a room upgrade (via emails). The desk clerk could find no record of it when I checked in and could not provide me the room. However, when I checked out the upgrade was on my bill.

Positives: Beautiful setting-lovely pool.

Negatives: A little noisy - could hear everyone else coming and going.

We stayed at Charlton cedar court in Banff, Alberta, in the month of July (2007) for only one night. We received 2 rooms with 4 double beds. The rooms were connected through a small kitchenette/washroom area and provided some privacy and disconnection for those who may have wanted it. The rooms were clean and reasonably kept. Free wireless internet was able upon request. We also received discount coupons for breakfast at the restaurant in the neighboring hotel (which we did not use).

Positives: Clean, reasonable rates, central enough. In fact, there was construction in the city centre.

Negatives: If the construction was not happening in the city centre, some people may have thought the hotel is too far to walk.

The facility is a little old, but clean. The kitchenette suite is particularly useful and comfortable for family travel.

Positives: I like the kitchenette in the room.

Negatives: Housekeeping is a little late on the first day.

Defective design of rooms. AC is on the main floor with the bedroom in the loft. Summer time, it never got comfortable in the loft. Could not sleep. When told the hotel staff, they were aware of the problem and said leave the window open and that is the best they could do. Even with windows open, it was too hot.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Bed room is in a loft and was too hot even with full AC.

We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, the parking was covered but not underground which we liked. Again the newly renovated rooms with the generous sized bathroom was great, however we would have preferred a restaurant on site.

Positives: Newly renovated, very large bathroom.

Negatives: It did not have a restaurant.

I found it clean and comfortable. The loft room was nice. Hotel is wood cedar construction. Desk staff was very efficient. Seemed to have nice hot tub, but I did not have time to try it.

Positives: Comfortable. Nice room - had a loft with bed upstairs.

Negatives: Location is 10-15 minutes walk into downtown Banff.

The hotel has great amenities such as indoor pools and a sauna; the rooms are very large and the bathrooms have bathtubs and convenient showers. The only issue is that the hotel is quite far from the convention center, and a tad far from downtown where the attractions are overall.

Positives: Large room and great bathroom; amenities.

Negatives: Hotel is far from the convention center, with no shuttle.

We drove up to Charlton Cedar Courts and were impressed with the look of the buildings and grounds. However, we were moved to the Royal Canadian Lodge, a nicer hotel, two doors down, at no extra charge.

Positives: We were moved to Royal Canadian Lodge at no extra charge. Great place.

Negatives: Absolutely super place...
