We have been going there for years and I disagree with the Lady whose husband is in Afganistan she was having a bad week and it shows in just about every comment she made as we checked in the same day as her, although we never her saw her much as she was gone when we got up and never returned until 7-8pm every night leaving her two young children with a granparent. The lake was clear the first couple days but green algae did blow in (blue algae was never seen) and got bad on 9th and 10th but was pretty well gone when we checked out today. We been going there for years and the beach and water has always been great for kids. I dont know what shes talking about that dogs are not allowed they have always been allowed in fact they have there own beach and the ones that were barking were not even in the campground.I know because the owners have complaints into the county about them. As far as rude staff they have never been rude to us but I believe they are the type of people that if you respect them they will respect you. I noticed the algae sign right away and just shrugged it off as which Alberta lake doesnt get a Algae problem at some point in the summer it can come and go day by day depends on the wind and the weather. There are walking and biking trails they are on the ajoining property, nice trails to walk a dog along the lake in the trees but also good for peddle bikes I guess if the kids were not yelled at so much they would of come out of there trailer and found that out. We love it there

Positives: One of the most quiet and family orientated campgrounds we have been in. Old play ground but at least its not a arcade to keep our kids glued to. Great for young kids as the lake is real shallow.

Negatives: No boat or paddle boat rentals and can not fish of the shore.

Owners are very rude!!! I wanted to take the kids on a vacation while their dad was away on tour in Afghanistan. Most important thing was swimming for them. I arrived and paid my fees for the week, found the beach to be full of blue green algae, unacceptable for swimming NOT one sign stating that the lake was full of algae, owner never said anything when I registered. When I asked to be reimbursed they proceeded to tell me that there were no refunds....that they couldn't help what was happening to the lake. But they could have let me make an informed decision to stay or not. But instead I felt attacked by the man that owned the place and felt bullied and uncomfortable the rest of my stay. I would not recommend this campground to anyone, even if you were not interested in the lake. Worst experience I have ever encountered. Pictures on their website are not at all what the beach looked like....should have had way more black mud and weeds sticking up through the water.

Positives: close to the city, we backed on to a big field so the kids could run around there.

Negatives: playground not very fun for the kids, no trails for walking or biking, everything was at a cost, no refunds, rude staff/owners, they say no dogs but there were dogs barking and fighting for our first three days.
