Esterhazy Wander Inn Motel

Located just outside of Esterhazy, Esterhazy's newest and best motel was cheaply built. When we checked in, the room's curtains were on the bed. The clerk asked us if we wanted the curtains on the windows. We said yes so when we returned in the evening, the curtains were hastily and badly hung. We noticed how small the room with 2 double beds is. Bathroom had thin shower curtain that leaked water all over floor, shower bulb that came off in your hands, rusting paper towel holder, a towel rack that collapsed at the latest touch, heaters with burn marks, and a temp control bulb that came off as you adjusted the temp (rather cool at night). Shortage of towels so we had to wake up the hotel clerk. We informed him of the state of the room which he seemed to take rather casually. Did not apologise, offer a discount, nor offer to fix it but asked us whether we wanted another room (with the same problems).

Positives: it was clean; free movie rentals

Negatives: - poor maintenance
- relaxed attitude of staff towards maintenance and problems
-flooding shower with collapsing towel rack put towels on soaking floor
- no curtains hung initially
- lack of towels
