Good location, but not a 2.5 star at best. The washroom was the biggest disappointment.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Out dated and dirty washroom; tub had rust stain, grout was black and moldy for neglect.

I expected more from this hotel. It likely would have been worth the travel time to stay at the Delta East. We booked this hotel because of the family pool. Although the pool was good for loud kids, it was essentially a basic shallow apartment pool, with a water slide. The room was dated and very basic. It was evident that they place customers in theses types of rooms.

Positives: We left something in the room that the hotel found and mailed to us.

Negatives: Evident that the hotel places. Customers in dated, mediocre rooms. Family pool was very basic, not special.

Highly recommend this for a business or leisure stay in Toronto. In/out privileges parking, well situated, beautiful hotel, great staff, and
great bed.

Positives: Great location. Beautiful hotel. Helpful option of free Internet in lobby area.

Negatives: Cost for Internet in room.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sun 27 Nov 2011 rated 10 out of 10.

Have stayed here a number of times and always clean, friendly and a reasonable price.

Positives: Always the same courteous service and clean bright rooms.

Negatives: Water to low and jet in hot tube not strong enough.

Great staff , but poor management - some rooms are horrible an others are great.

Positives: Location and balcony.

Negatives: Poor quality furnishings - old worn out.

The hotel was close to the Eaton Center which was great. Walking distance to Dundas Square and Yonge Street. Got fooled with the slide. Swimming area was tiny, smaller then house pools and so overcrowded due to the Santa clause parade
I guess, over 50 kids which shud not have been allowed and only one lifeguard. Felt unsafe and left after 10 minutes of being there. Not worth $200 dollars!

Positives: The walking distance to the eaten center and dundas square.

Negatives: The pool is the reason we went with this hotel and it was tiny, 50 or more kids in the pool with one lifeguard.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 10 Nov 2011 rated 5 out of 10.

In my view, they seem to treat
poorly in terms of room assignment. If all of their rooms are like the one I got, this hotel should be avoided.

Positives: Convenient location.

Negatives: Very tired tiny room - scratched up furniture, 18-inch television, bathroom needs reno, had to keep the balcony door open to keep room cooled down.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 03 Nov 2011 rated 8 out of 10.

I'd come here again if I got a better room. Service was up to a high standard, but we visited friends at the courtyard and their rooms were larger for less money. The only difference I noted was a smaller lobby, but that doesn't matter to much to me compared with my personal accommodations.

Positives: Good location for getting around, expansive lobby with clever touchscreen maps.

Negatives: Room size was small and we were right next to construction. CRT TV.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 31 Oct 2011 rated 5 out of 10.

I would have had this hotel at the 3 star level at most. It was adequate for my needs. Clean for the most part with the exception of a glob of toothpaste residue from a previous guest and a cracked bathroom door. I got put into a room overlooking construction.

Positives: Great location, pleasant staff.

Negatives: Despite a reservation was given a room right next to construction.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 28 Oct 2011 rated 3 out of 10.

The desk staff were pleasant and helpful but housekeeping was not. The room (and the hallway smelled awful) and was very hot, even though the heater wasn't on. The AC didn't work and the sliding door to the terrace was blocked from opening by a block of wood that was nailed down. Housekeeping offered to "spray" and bring a fan but they never showed up. The bed was nice and firm and very comfortable but the rooms could definitely use some updating.

Positives: The bed was very comfortable.

Negatives: The room and the hallway smelled skunky. The room was too hot (w/out heat on). Door to terrace inoperable.

Reviewer: Not provided on Thu 27 Oct 2011 rated 6 out of 10.

The hotel is very nice and well situated.
I do believe that renovations of the rooms is long overdue and maybe a refrigerator in the room would be an added feature.with more than 1 night stays, it would come in handy.

Positives: The location was excellent for what we traveled to Toronto to do.

Negatives: The room that was issued was not clean and was told by hotel staff that it was the only room available.

Reviewer: Not provided on Wed 26 Oct 2011 rated 5 out of 10.

I don't think this hotel should accept bids at the 3.5 star level, because it is clearly not at that level.

Positives: Cheap parking.

Negatives: Room were quite dated and need sprucing up.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 18 Oct 2011 rated 8 out of 10.

Fine hotel, good restaurant, breakfast however was cold. Public areas look good.

Positives: Good location, friendly staff.

Negatives: You have to spy for the business center and for internet in the room, that is very old fashioned.

Customer service is horrible. I can not believe people actually stay in this hotel. This is the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel.

Positives: Nothing is good about this hotel.

Negatives: Customer services is horrible. Room is dirty.

Very large hotel with a lot of amenities. Friendly staff. Acceptable restaurants and bar with live entertainment. Looked like there were very good facilities for people with children. Rooftop pool and fitness facilities. Parking, as always in downtown Toronto, is expensive.

Positives: Extremely central location; very good amenities.

Negatives: Restaurant food good but not of top quality; not enough selection for diet conscious traveler (low sugar, low fat, low sodium but fresh and tasty).

The hotel is always fantastic; nice and clean, pretty, comfortable beds, competent staff (usually), good prices on Priceline, and the best location ever. The few times I've ordered room service I have always been very happy with it. The pool area is great too - it's my favorite hotel in Toronto.

Positives: Amazing price on Priceline, easy access, great location, lovely room, quiet yet in the middle of downtown.

Negatives: I was freezing in my room and had to wait 45 minutes for the staff to bring me an extra blanket despite calling twice.

Reviewer: Not provided on Mon 05 Sep 2011 rated 8 out of 10.

I don't think that you could find a better hotel in GTA for your family than the Delta Chelsea. Tons of stuff to do for the kids and we didn't even touch the pool. Location is fantastic for Younge St and everything near by.

Positives: Great location very family friendly. Market place was an easy restaurant with kids.

Negatives: it was very much no frills, but for the price paid it was solid.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 02 Sep 2011 rated 7 out of 10.

It was a nice hotel, but not as nice as the website made it look. We must have gotten a "priceline customer" room, because I did not think it was up to par. The beds were very comfortable and they cleaned our room very nicely every day.

Positives: The water slide!

Negatives: They could not accommodate a king bed for us and the construction next door was so loud.

This hotel has an impressive lobby but do not be fooled, the rooms are dirty, old and run down with old tech furniture. Definitely not a 3 1/2 star!

Positives: The lobby is impressive but everything else failed to meet expectations.

Negatives: Parking fees overnight should be included in price of the room.

In our room, our balcony door could not open, there was a piece of wood that was nailed down. We were disappointed because we had good weather, and we wanted to go out on the balcony in the morning and in the evening.

Positives: Location.

Negatives: Old - rooms needed updating!

It's a great place for family and children. The food was really good in the lobby restaurants.

Positives: I liked that it was so busy. A bustling hotel is a good indication that it's popular and service driven.

Negatives: The pool was configured odd. It made it hard for me to sit and watch my kids and get all angles.

The hotel is conveniently located and it is in good shape. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The only negative comment I have is with respect to the incredibly uncomfortable bed and pillows.

Positives: The location and the balcony was good.

Negatives: The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows too.

If I hadn't pre-paid, I would not have stayed at this hotel. I was uncomfortable crossing the picket line. Also, my room wasn't cleaned during my stay due to the strike. Also, WiFi didn't work in the room. Not good.

Negatives: All was good, it looked like the room is about due for a refurbish.

The hotel is large and old. It's located near Yonge ST. Very close to shopping, eats and transportations.

Positives: The location is great!

Negatives: The rooms are small and the bathroom is tight.

Reviewer: Not provided on Sat 18 Sep 2010 rated 4 out of 10.

We were very unsatisfied with this hotel. The room smelled damp and musty, the bathroom was cramped and hard to move around in, the walls had black streak marks on them, and the balcony doors were nailed shut. While I’m sure that this is a safety feature, it is still disappointing to see. The hotel had a great location (downtown Toronto), but also had some of the most expensive parking of all hotels in its vicinity at $27/night.

Positives: Price received.

Negatives: The room seemed unclean, smelled musty, and the walls looked dirty.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 17 Sep 2010 rated 8 out of 10.

Very pleasant hotel in downtown Toronto. I would definitely come back here on my next trip.

Positives: The website had all the info we needed to know. Breakfast was unique.

Negatives: Parking was too expensive. Prefer free Internet in room.

Great location, great staff, large and grand hotel. Expensive parking, carpet and wall paper were pretty old looking.

Positives: Great downtown location.

Negatives: Dark room.

Reviewer: Not provided on Tue 14 Sep 2010 rated 4 out of 10.

Although conveniently located, this mega-hotel has confusing public spaces with a maze-like feel to it. The reception area around check-in/check-out times can often feel like grand central station. This is my second visit, and the rooms all need updating and maintenance. However, the hotel staff seems friendly and attentive.

Positives: The location.

Negatives: Needs updating of facilities and rooms and public spaces. Confusing layout.

Reviewer: Not provided on Fri 03 Sep 2010 rated 7 out of 10.

The location was great. Stayed a week. Rooms were very clean, however, I was not impressed one day finding my balcony door unlocked when it was locked when I left. I mentioned this to the front desk and they informed me sometimes the cleaning crew open the door for airing, would have been nice for them to relock the door behind them. The bathroom was so small two people could not be in there at the same time. There was no bathroom fan to clear the humidity. Using the TV, it seemed to lock up quite a bit as I navigated through the menus. Turning it off fixed that. I went to get ice from the dispenser on the floor, and it did not work. That was the 8th floor for your info. What really turned me off was the different hallways and passages snaking through two buildings. This building is very old, seems like they used to be apartments at one time based on the balconies off of the rooms. My wife and I actually couldn't figure out how to get back to the 8th floor from the 27th floor pool. You see the elevators only goes to the 25th floor and then you walk up two flights. Leaving the pool area, you need to remember the way you came in order to get back to your room. Very confusing. Food was great. I also found it very noisy at night as every noise from the hallway and even other rooms could be heard. I think its over priced even though we got a discount because my wife was a patient at the local hospital.

Positives: Good location. Food is great, & neat robot.

Negatives: Old building, too pricey, & confusing hallways.

We stayed at the Delta three nights. The hotel is very nicely decorated, but very busy. We had to wait in line to check in and then for the elevator (along with ten or so other people call with luggage). Our room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. However, it seemed like there was no sound-proofing in the room. We could hear the television from the next room and when people walked through the hallway, it sounded like they were right in our room. When I went to get ice, I very clearly could hear our television in the hallway, although we did not have set particularly loud. We also heard toilets flushing and showers running much of the time. If the fan in the room had an option to stay on all the time, the white noise would have helped; it did not have such an option. The restaurants were overpriced, the food just okay, but the service was excellent. The lounge was also nice. Parking was outrageous at $32 per day! We originally tried to self-park for $30 per day, but we couldn't find a spot so we just drove back up to the hotel and use valet parking. The hotel is close to everything, but because of the poor sound-proofing, we probably would not stay here again (it may have just been our room).

Positives: Friendly staff, nicely decorated, comfortable beds, & close to everything.

Negatives: Long lines & poor sound-proofing in our room.

I liked the overall location and cleanliness of the hotel. The location was excellent as it was indicated in the add, in the heart of Downtown Toronto. The room was neat and clean. The only thing that bothered me was the construction behind the hotel and it should be addressed strongly with city of Toronto officials. Overall, I enjoyed staying in this hotel.

Positives: It was clean and perfect location, staff was friendly and caring.

Negatives: The construction behind the hotel, which continued throughout the night and it was difficult to get quality sleep.

Just very friendly and made my experience of Toronto all the better - my first visit to Toronto.

Positives: The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff.

Negatives: There are areas of the hotel that need updating.

The Delta Chelsea features beautiful, comfortable rooms, has five bars and restaurants that offer very good if mildly expensive dining and drinks, and is right in the heart of Toronto. An excellent experience.

Positives: Fantastic location.

Negatives: The restaurant was good, but not quite worth the high prices.

Exceptional staff. They more than made up for the inconvenience of having to move me to another room because of plumbing problems due to recent renovations. Everyone working there enjoyed their jobs and did everything possible to make guests feel welcome at their hotel.

Positives: Everyone working at the hotel gave 100% to make my stay pleasant and comfortable.

Negatives: Well, the hotel had just had renovations and I had to be moved from my initial room to another because of plumbing problems.

It was a great place to stay in downtown Toronto. The room itself was comfortable, nice beds and linens. Although the bathroom had a chipped tub, broken tile in the shower and paint peeling on the ceiling. Nice toiletries provided. Hallways showed their age and carpets too. Friendly staff, maids and front desk...very courteous and helpful. Nice atmosphere...If you don't mind a little wear and tear, this hotel is a great deal.....if you booked on Priceline and put in a bid on the room!

Positives: It is in an excellent location, close to subway and streetcars. Great for shopping...

Negatives: Needs TLC.... peeling ceiling in bathroom, chipped tub and shower tile. Hallways look tired worn.

The room was really small. Good thing I was really by myself because it only had one bed.

Positives: Location.

I was very impressed with what I got. The very low price on priceline I got allowed me to upgrade to a deluxe room AND get parking and I still paid less than the others who were in line with me at check-in. I was on the 18th floor with a great view. The room was very clean, had a large screen TV, large bathroom, and a balcony. The pool looked great and it is open until 12am, but we were to busy to go in. The check in line was long, but I got through it in about 3-4 minutes and the girl was extremely friendly at the desk. The parking garage was nice, I left my car there most of the time and used the subway / tram.

Positives: Great location.

Negatives: I am used to smaller hotels which take care of you quicker and are more personalized.

On a trip to visit family over the Thanks-giving weekend, several members of my family stayed at this hotel. My mother and I stayed in one room on the 26th floors, while other family members stayed in other rooms on lower floors. While the location is convenient, and the staff generally is friendly, we were deeply unimpressed by the rooms. In addition to having our toilet overflow for no clear reason one morning just as we were preparing to go out for the day, we saw cockroaches twice during our four night stay: once in the closet where I was keeping my clothes, and once in the bathroom. From the size, shape and movement of the bugs, there is no question at all that they were roaches, and not some other kind of beetle. My mother and I chose to stay in the room rather than upset our other relatives who were staying there, and included a family with young children that would have had a hard time moving to another hotel. My mother did quietly alert a manager to the problem on the morning we checked out of the hotel, but in a follow-up phone call, the manager told us that their staff was not able to find any bugs, and did not sound like she had any intention of fumigating or otherwise dealing with the apparent infestation. My mother and I have both stayed in many hotels and hostels, and neither of us has ever seen a cockroach before. So, while the Delta may have a convenient location, unless you're fine with the idea of living with roaches, and potentially bringing some home with you in your luggage, I would suggest finding a different hotel for your stay in Toronto. I, for one, will never stay at the Delta again.

Positives: Location. Friendly staff.

Negatives: Cockroaches, not great bathroom facilities, and general dinginess of the room.
