The Franklin House is one of the oldest homes in Port Elgin, built in 1874. The Franklin House was previously known for 40-50 years as the Elgin Lodge and then in 1996 opened as a Bed & Breakfast.

The beautiful grounds and patio are an ideal setting for small weddings or family reunions. The Franklin House is a very short walk to Port Elgin's sandy beach, children's play area (train rides) and the marina.

We have stayed at the Franklin house on four separate occasions and will continue to do so in the years ahead. We have a small dog that limits our possibilities when renting in Port Elgin, and it is great to have a location that welcomes well-trained dogs into their home. Leslie and Bill will make your stay enjoyable and your pet will enjoy sharing this beatiful grounds and home with the owner's own dogs and cat.

Positives: Lovely grounds, good breakfast and a great location just up the hill from the Port Elgin beach.

Negatives: Basic room furnishings but certainly all that we ever require in a B & B.
