I did not have a good experience at this property. I was very disappointed when I stayed at the Waring House. I stayed at the main house. Some of the pathway to the main house was icy. I told the lady at reception, she said she would put some ice salt down, but it was never done. I am a 63 year old woman, and I have already fallen before.
I was in my room, must of started to drift off to sleep and was woken up with the room being extremely hot, I thought I was going to pass out. I looked all over for the thermostat but could not find one to turn the heat down. All there was, was a plastic thermometer stuck on the wall, reading 40 degrees.
Positives: The breakfast was nice. The waitress was very friendly.
I always wanted to stay at the Waring house, every time I passed it.
Negatives: Security came over and shut the heat off to the main house. It took hours for the room to cool down, turned out to be a very sleepless night. I phoned the Waring house about my experience and all I was offered was a reduced rate to come again. For the money I paid, single occupancy, expensive, I would have wanted a considerable refund or a complimentary night free.
For the money people are paying and the reputation of this property, this heating issue should of been fixed, before you make rooms available to your customers.

We have had many a good meal in the Pub and take our visitors there because they enjoy it too..We decided to have brunch in Amelia'a Garden and were exceedingly disappointed. The Breakfast food was cold i.e.beans,sausages,bacon,hash browns and eggs benedict.(The lunch products seem to be ok).We pointed out to staff present our concerns.By their body lanuage and facial expressions, we felt they could not have cared less and were not taking our concerns seriously.
The Chef did eventually appear to look at things - this included a quick look at the equipment but no food thermometer was in sight and that was the end of the inspection.
Positives: The tea was lovley as was the drink my husband had.The deserts were terrific.
Negatives: Staff attitudes except for the Manager.Lessons in customer service would not go amiss in light of the reputation that the Waring House has and I presume wants to continue.

We stayed in the main house. Pub was downstairs, handy for a little nightcap after a wonderful day out. It was so quiet and peaceful upstairs in our room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Service and accomodations were fantastic. Can't wait to return for a weekend getaway
