This nplace stinks, literally!! I could live with the bull rushes in the pool, I could live with the litter on the beach, I could live with the overgrown grass and weeds, I cannot live with the raw sewage! Disgusting!

Recently was invited up for a long weekend getaway. What a pleasant drive with little traffic on a Friday evening to boot!! Park was clean, and the people I met very friendly and knowledgeable about the park. Most I met were coming back this campground year after year, which made an instant positive impression to me about this park. Beach area was clean and so were the washrooms and other facilities. Definetly a dog friendly park!! Another thing I noticed is that most campers care a lot about their site by keeping it clean, and some spent many $$$ on landscaping which is always nice to see. I went fishing and caught 3 bass in a period of less than 20 min. Amazing! Great park, good people!

After reading some prior reviews both good and bad, I thought I would check this place out for myself with the intent on possibly bringing my family into this park. On my first impression, I found that the lady at the gate to be pleasant and informative and the people I met in the park that were friends of my buddy to be good people and most told me they have been coming there for a few years. There is no swimming pool but the park does have a nice beach area and there is a place close by to get food for the campers convenience. There is also a play ground I noticed for the children. I drove all through the park and noticed one end of the park seemed to be really dressed up which were the waterfront lots located at one end of the park. I think all and all it is a good place to put down some roots. The lake is amazing and not over run with boaters , and you always catch fish here. Staff is friendly.

Positives: nice lake and beach area, campers here seem like friendly people, good fishing, dog friendly, stores within 10 min away

Negatives: still need to do some clean up after the ice storm Madoc had earlier this year,

I have been in the park since 2000. This will be my last season. The new owner has done absolutely nothing to keep this park maintained. The roads are terrible, grass is cut sporadically, never trimmed, beach has butts, old fireworks, glass and other trash all over it. The weeds in the water at the beach are overgrown. The pool, or what once was one, has been closed for 4 years now. The old fun house is a hazard. They still advertise a cottage, but there is none.
Unbelievablly rowdy on weekends and especially long weekends.
Just a lousy place to be. Dont go there!!!!

What a great place and so close to get to as well. The office staff were pleasant and willing to help answer any of your questions if your thinking about camping here. The fishing is great and the rec committee always has something planned for both the adults and children. Most campers in the park have been around for many years, so I have come to find out while visiting this campground. That alone speaks for itself in my books. I like the fact it didn't take me long to get there as well. I'm sold!!

Positives: Friendly front office staff, great rec committee, close to Belleville,waterfront sites look really nice. Dog. Friendly , nice beach area with restaurant close by.

Negatives: Wish you were able to stay year round :(

I read the previous comments which some were negative but thought i would give it a try.After camping in the park for four days i was so glad i came we had such a great time and met alot of new friends.I am now a seasonal camper and i love it.

Positives: Great people and staff. lots of activities on longweekends.Caught my first musky what a fight.

Negatives: Its a three hour drive for me but well worth it

I WAS a resident in this park for well over 15 years. Since new ownership has taken place the pool has not been up and running for 4 years. Its a hazard. The beach is disgusting, roads are ridiculous especially seeing as there is NO security as speeding theft and vadilosm occurs ALL season. Recently over 20 trailers have been broken into aswell. Its a madhouse on long weekends as tbeh park is filled with drinking and driving of all over.

Positives: positives well if you wanna be a teeanger with no rules this is the park for you.

Negatives: to many to list god be warned don't go. Its gone down hill so much and is more a worry then a pleasure there.

I must assume the previous 3 high ratings were submitted by the new owners / or staff.The Park (Crystal Beach Resorts Inc.)has gone downhill dramatically during the past 2 years.
A joy to visit or live there on a perment basis from '96 to 2010 has been fantastic. Now>> not a nice experience as far as service or availability of advertised programs.
Surely miss John & Sharon, the previous owners of the Resort.

Terrible, after making reservations and asking if they had a pool, arrived to find the pool has been closed for over a year. Park is unkept and dirty. No staff in sight. Stayed 1 night and left. Would not recommend this park for any family, unless new ownership takes over.

Positives: Too bad the lake is so beautiful, park could have alot of potential with the right owners.

Negatives: Everything, would have rated a 0 if I could

Don't ever stay at this park the new owner is only out for the money pool is closed they don't offer anything for the kids and the latest news is he has started and eviction notice to all the elderly people who been permanent residence that call Crystal beach home for years what a SHAME have to move out by July 31 2011
