The Sheraton Hamilton is conveniently located in downtown Hamilton, and not from HWY 403. Although the area surrounding the hotel is a bit rough, it's to be expected for Hamilton. The hotel has undergone recent updates to the common areas, as well as cosmetic updates in many of the room, as well as new beds, that are very comfortable. It's a bit disappointing to see that parking is $10 per day. I realize the parking lot is operated by a 3rd party, and thus there will be a charge, howver $10 seems like a bit of a rip-off considering other hotels in the area offer free parking to their guests.Beyond this, the only complaint I have is that the hotel offers free WiFi in the common areas on the first and second floors, but charges for Internet service in the room. $6 for 30 minutes, or $12 for 24 hours may not seem like much, however most other hotels in the same area offer free internet service, and the rate per night is significantly less.At the price the Sheraton charges, (even at the great price I got on Priceline), it seems petty to be charging for parking and Internet.
Positives: recently updated rooms, very comfortable beds and pillows, good location
Negatives: pricey parking for the area, room service not available 24 hours, no free in-room WiFi

Hotel is great, great location, great service, very friendly, right next to Hamilton Convention Centre.
Positives: Food outstanding.
Negatives: Surprising number of street bums hanging out in front of hotel all day and night.

I moved from Hamilton over 20 years ago, this hotel was there then and clearly has not been updated....it is very tired looking and a disappointment for a Sheraton hotel. The elevators were broken and we had to use the staff elevators, there was limited staff working. It reminded me of a hotel that was ready to go out of business.
Positives: Was close to the convention centre where we needed to go.
Negatives: Elevators were broken down, waits of up to 10 minutes common and no stair access!

I have stayed here twice now in the span of a month after bidding on a 3+* and winning the Sheraton. The price for this weekend was double what I paid last time (full hotel this time). The pool and gym are being renovated so if you want those things, either look elsewhere for a hotel or be prepared to go a few blocks to the YMCA as Sheraton guests. The food, though good, is too pricey.
Positives: It is downtown Hamilton - convenient to most things. Comfortable beds.
Negatives: No nice views since it's downtown. Prices for food is where they get you.

The proximity to Copps Coluseum and the art gallery was very close this is a significant benefit. The rooms were tired and the pool and hot tub was not in order. The price of the room did not reflect the quality of the room.
Positives: Door man went out of his way to finding parking for our vehicle because the hotel lot was full.
Negatives: The pool was not opened so the Y pool was recommended - this was inconvenient.

I went away on a get away trip with my husband and two children under 4yrs. The children loved it, were very excited. I love Sheraton hotel. It would be good to have a small fridge and free wireless internet service included in the package at least for a day!
Positives: Nice, convient, rooms are good, bathroom great, towels and bedsheets rocks.
Negatives: Drinking water put in room was for sale - I did not like know that.

Overall, great experience.
Positives: Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The elevators were very quick. Entertainment, shops, restaurants close by.
Negatives: Can't think of anything. The stay went very smoothly and well.

Hotel was easy to find. Very busy. Very loud neighbors. Staff very accomodating. Cups in room were dirty, used. Refrigerator was missing.
Positives: Staff upgraded room to king size bed.
Negatives: Had to pay $20 parking for 2 cars.

Horrible experience - won't ever stay there again..
Positives: Central location.

While the lobby and entrance to the hotel made one think luxury, by the time one reaches the room, it is evident that this is an older hotel, ready for an upgrade and renovation. We were disappointed to find no microwave & fridge in the room (which was a luxury "upgrade". We had difficulty getting logged on to the internet, and, since there was no wireless connection, only one of us could work on our laptops. Checking in and out took an inordinate length of time, also.
Positives: Large room, comfortable temperature.
Negatives: No fridge or microwave in room. No wireless connection in room.

Very much enjoyed the stay and will continue to use this hotel.
Positives: The staff and the location.
Negatives: There were some issues with the room that maintenance needed to look at.

This hotel was shabby, the rooms were old with chipped furniture and walls that had been repaired but not re-painted. The dingy room was ancient and tired which also describes the food. The bright note was the staff who were very helpful and nice although they seem a little embarrassed about the condition of the hotel.
Positives: The staff was very helpful even though the hotel has seen better days.
Negatives: The shabby furniture, the poorly renovated room, the food.

Its nice but at least the breakfast must be included and the internet access must be free.
Positives: Nice place, safe.
Negatives: Breakfast must be included and net must be free.

The first room we were allocated reeked of cigarette smoke even though it was on a non-smoking floor. We asked for another room and the second one was better. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night because we couldn't find anywhere decent within walking distance of the hotel. The prices were extortionate ($21 for spaghetti with meat balls!) and to top that they attempted to overcharge us as well. The first night's sleep was upset at 3a.m. by unbelievable rowdiness from some guests on our floor. This was not dealt with adequately by the hotel. Our final bill listed phone calls which were not made - they were refunded on request but the damage was already done by that stage. In addition Hamilton is not a very nice city, and there were always lots of undesirables roaming around outside the hotel entrance.
Positives: Nothing much to like about this hotel.
Negatives: Many things to dislike, see review below.

Not a bad hotel, but go somewhere else for breakfast.
Positives: Nice room.
Negatives: Parking charge was unexpected though not outrageous.

The hotel was very nice with friendly staff, especially at the restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable. The only problem was the elevators as they took forever to arrive, and didn't necessarily indicate the direction they were really going.
Positives: Cleanliness, comfort, restaurant staff.
Negatives: Elevators.

Very clean, accommodating hotel with plenty of amenities and a complete shopping mall connected to the hotel was a treat. Very helpful and friendly atmosphere.
Positives: Bell service was very helpful finding a parking lot for a large van that doesn't fit in an underground garage.
Negatives: Vans over 6'2" does not fit in the downtown garages.

The hotel location was good. I am sure that the renovated floors were nicer. However we were put in a room that was very dated in decor, the wallpaper was pealing, the carpets were filthy, and there was a big wet patch where the air conditioner leaked. The parking garage was no well signed and dirty. Very disappointing.
Positives: The location was great.
Negatives: The room was very dirty. The air conditioner leaked and there were drawers missing from the dresser. It smelt like smoke.

Sheraton Hamilton is outstandingly situated midway between Niagara and Toronto. I would highly recommend it to those wishing to visit both of those places. The rooms are not lacking in any way except for slightly worn furniture. The front desk personnel are efficient and friendly and I would highly recommend this hotel.
Positives: Excellent location, very comfortable room with nice shower.
Negatives: Room service food was overpriced and has absurd delivery charge in addition to tax.
