Awful!! We paid for 3 nights and left after the first night because we just couldn't stand it! The website, which has been conveniently removed, made it sound like a fantastic place for our family reunion but I would sooner take my chances on the side of the highway than stay there again. We had to leave a $300 damage deposit on top of paying for the entire weekend for our whole group months ahead of time, then everyone had to check in, including guests. Our guests lived right up the road so would stop in for a couple of hours each morning to visit, we had to pay $10/person EACH time they visited, but we weren't told that until the hour long walk about when checking out (it was not posted, nor requested from the guests as they checked in). The creepy owner, also charges $25 per cigarette butt she finds on the ground - so you better hope the last people that camped never left one! We had to sign a waiver saying that she was not responsible for any damage to our vehicle or missing property from it, which is understandable, but then we weren't allowed to park anywhere near our campsite...we had to park on the other side of her house where we couldn't even see it from where we camped. We're unsure if this is where the damage to our rental car occurred. The owner also took it upon herself to offer one of my nieces (7 years old) ice cream and bring her up to her home without telling ANY of the adults, nevermind asking the child to ASK PERMISSION! Luckily Grandma spotted this and caught her just before they went in the house. The outhouses are slapped together out of rough plywood like material, completely unsanitary as they can't possibly be cleaned, and the doors don't even close properly. We considered renting the cabin, but thankful we didn't....it's cute for a child's playhouse, but it is left with the door wide open and is completely unsealed with gaps in the logs big enough for birds to go through. There is no electricity or water going to it, and the nearest outhouse is only about a 3 minute walk, but in the dark, with no cleared walking path, tripping over tall prickly weeds it wouldn't be fun! She also claims that showers are included with camping, but it is $3 to use some sort of outhouse looking shower, we didn't even dare go in there.
Positives: Easy access from the highway, the dogs can be off leash
Negatives: The river is high and fast and much too close for us to be comfortable with toddlers. The mosquito's were unreal! In about 36 hours, while wearing Deep Woods Off, our 3 year old still had 134 + mosquito bites.
