Bellis Beach Lake Campground

We have been going to Bellis for years. It is a very small and quiet lake. Unfortunately it is not as attractive as it once was due to the fires of a few years back. A lot of the burnt trees are now falling over and because of the "natural" area designation they cannot be removed. They are a bit unsightly. If you are here to relax and do a bit of trout fishing it is a great little spot. For those of you with children expecting to swim and use the "beach" you will be disappointed. Much better off to go to Garner Lake a few minutes further up the highway where there is a large beach and lots of playground facilities for the kids. The beach at Bellis consists of maybe eight feet of very muddy lake sand. There is no where to put a towel out for laying down and the lake bottom is very soft and muddy. Not kid friendly in my opinion.
