I phoned the hotel to request a non-smoking room. I would have to wait until my arrival as my reservation would be looked after those guests which booked directly with the hotel. I was advised I should have phoned the hotel first and they would have likely near matched the price I was offering. When we arrived at 3pm (earliest arrival time), I was advised room was not available & that I should come back periodically to see if it was available. I checked back about every 15 mins without luck. I mentioned this to the concierge desk who said I should have had a room by now & he would escalate to a supervisor. He did & advised a room would be available within 5 mins. He said the check in staff were not that helpful (an understatement).
Positives: Downtown Montreal.
Negatives: The front desk staff did not go out of their way to book us in making us wait over an hour.

Undergoing renovations soon to modernize public spaces but rooms were clean and well-designed with up to date amenities.
Positives: Location
Negatives: Garbage & room service trays from New Year's eve celebrations had not been taken away on Jan 2 2011 and was left in the hall.

Would not stay here again with both Hilton and Delta on either side of this location.
Positives: The pool and the location in downtown Montreal.
Negatives: The service from staff was terrible, inconvenient access to "perks" that were advertised e.g. "kids eat free".

Overall I was satisfied with facility. Need to have carpets changed in rooms and hall way.
Positives: Nice friendly staff, and nice location.
Negatives: The carpets need to be replaced in rooms smell stale. Bathrooms very small.

Traveling to Montreal for the first time w/ 2 teens, I found this hotel to be conveniently located, w/in walking distance to McGill University, and local shopping and restaurants. The room was average; bathroom very small, but fine for one night. Beds were comfortable. Room clean. Staff friendly. Did not like paying extra for parking on site. Also, they declined to take our bags to our car at check out, and also did not bring our car to us; we had to go down into the garage with our bags. Not a BIG deal, but would have been nice.
Positives: Convenient location.
Negatives: Parking was $20.

Negatives: Valet parking only.

Hotel was conveniently located. Staff were excellent and provided good options for dinner within walking distance. The room however was outdated and not very clean.
Positives: Location was good.
Negatives: Room was not very clean and had very old furniture. It looked very different from the public areas.

Holiday Inn is being remodeled in the recent years. My room was still furnished with outdated but well conserved and polished. Linen quality was pretty remarkable. TV channels displayed a wide variety of options. It was a very good and pleasant stay.
Positives: Location pretty close to vieux Montreal, close to Quarter Latin.
Negatives: Bathroom was very dark.

Good location. Standard staff treatment, nothing special or memorable. Defensive waitresses, at the restaurant, when son asked for chocolate milk or chocolate for crepes. She said "It was not her fault". Seems to be typical of local personality. I ignored the lack of finesse.
Positives: Indoor valet, so we did not feel the bad weather.
Negatives: Rooms

The hotel was generally very good for the price. Location was great, within walking distance to Old Montreal, restaurants on Rue Prince Arthur, and shops, restaurants and contact strip clubs on Rue Saint Catherine. The hotel was also just steps away from the nearest Metro stop. I'd stay there again.
Positives: Parts were newly renovated and location was great.
Negatives: Our room seemed out of date, old bed, old pictures on wall.

The lobby was nicely done and clean. Check-in staff was friendly and accommodated my requests for a higher floor and larger king room. Rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable, had no trouble falling asleep. Room had a standard sized TV. Internet was extremely easy to log on to and free. Room also had a vanity, but might be more appreciated by females. Bathroom was standard - slightly older fixtures. Water pressure for the shower was good. Did not try room service. No fridge in room. Sofa in the king room is a pullout. Fitness center and pool area are excellent. Large areas, not overcrowded when I went. Attendant was on duty. Place also has a whirlpool. No sauna.
Positives: Friendly staff, convenient location.
Negatives: Expensive parking.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It was comfortable and offered us two very relaxing nights.
Positives: Great view of the Mont Royal from the window in our room!
Negatives: The swimming pool and hot tub were not open late enough in the evening since they closed at 9 pm.

This is very poor hotel in terms of the Holiday Inn Franchise. The service is poor and rooms are not very clean. The lobby and exercise facilities have been renovated, but the rooms have not been renovated. It was an uncomfortable stay and I would not recommend the hotel. I was very disappointed.
Positives: The gym and sauna is decent.
Negatives: The rooms are very small and not very clean.

Parts of the hotel are still under renovation. The bathroom layout is the worse I have ever seen. The sink and closet are in a tiny room on the right of the hall when you walk in. The toilet and tub are in a tiny closet on the left of the hall when you walk in. Not a romantic layout at all.
Positives: Everything is new.
Negatives: Bath room layout is terrible. 2 separate parts across hall from each other.

Below standard rooms, cleanliness is not up to mark, staff is not friendly, location of hotel is really good.
Positives: Location of hotel.
Negatives: Very poor room condition and room lay out, staff is not friendly, you feel that you are in a got office and not in a hotel.

This hotel does not compare to the others in the vicinity with the same star rating. I have stayed in most of the other hotels with in 1 mile and find the rooms to be small, particularly the bathroom. Cleanliness was an issue this time as hairs were found in both beds and in the bathroom sink.
Positives: It's location.
Negatives: The room was dirty. There were hairs in the bedding and bathroom.

The rooms needed some renovations and parking was too expensive but location was great.
Positives: I liked the location.
Negatives: I didnt like the fact that the hotel was under construction and you had to pay for parking.

This is not good at all. Please update your customer data about me so that this won't happen again.
