For the past 2 years I have stayed at the Tamarac Island Inn on a long weekend. They were the only place that would allow a 1 or 2 night stay on a long weekend, where as all other places forced you to stay a minimum of 3 nights on a long weekend. This year they have since changed. Extremely disappointing. As we do "Explore the Bruce" every year, and only need to stay one night.

Positives: The motel is set in a beautiful location. You leave your room through a patio door, that leads you down to a dock on the water. It is very peaceful and quiet. And of course my daughter had a great time jumping off the dock.

Negatives: Well, this is an old place, and needs some major renovations. They say it has been updated but updating by adding a coat of paint does not qualify. Be careful going to the bathroom, you may just fall through the floor, it feels very unsafe. The rooms are small, and very old. Beds aren't all that comfortable. The place needs some major work and maybe then it would be worth paying the prices they want, and for the length of time they demand. Despite the beauty of the location, I say spend your money else where!
