Westover Inn is a bed & breakfast located in St. Marys.

The Westover Inn, built in 1867, is situated on the Thames River in the picturesque town of St. Marys, Ontario.

We are a short drive from the city of Stratford and the renowned Stratford Festival. Westover's status as one of Ontario's most popular inns is based on the historic ambience of our 22 guest rooms and our award-winning cuisine.

William and Joseph Hutton were the original owners of the Victorian mansion. The Hutton brothers built the main house, now called the Manor, along the Thames River in 1867. These industrious gentlemen also left their mark with six other limestone buildings in the town of St. Marys, which has since earned the nickname "Stonetown".

The Roman Catholic Church acquired the estate in the 1930's and operated it as a seminary.

It was during this period that the red brick dormitory with 22 small rooms were built off the main house. During the 1970's the seminary was sold to a group of families experimenting with communal living.

The property was again purchased in 1985 and 20 months were spent renovating the Victorian mansion, the dormitory and constructing the cottage building.

The Westover Inn began welcoming guests in 1987. The Inn has three buildings available to its guests. The original Manor boasts five charming second floor guestrooms and one luxurious suite complete with whirlpool.

All rooms in the Manor are different shapes with original moldings and 11-foot ceilings. The Manor also houses the Inn's dining rooms, lounge and meeting room. The Terrace, which served as the church's dormitory, sits on a gentle rise overlooking the Manor and holds twelve guestrooms. Finally, the Thames Cottage is nestled in the trees and offers privacy and luxury in its two suites and two guestrooms.

All of the Cottage rooms overlook the teahouse with its surrounding gardens.

The Westover Inn sits on 19 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Our small-town, riverside location guarantees complete quiet and privacy for our guests. We have 22 guest rooms housed in three distinct buildings: the Manor, the Terrace, and the Thames Cottage. All guest rooms have en-suite baths and individual character.
The Manor is the original estate home and was constructed in 1867. Our renovations and upgrades combine modern luxury with nineteenth century charm. The Manor has four King bedded guest rooms, one Queen bedded guest room and the Luxury Suite, which houses a whirlpool bath, living room, wet bar and walkout patio that overlooks the grounds. Each Manor room is different in design, has original moldings and eleven-foot ceilings. In addition, the Manor houses our dining rooms, meeting room and our lounge with a working fireplace.

The Terrace was originally constructed in the 1930s as part of a seminary which operated from the property. The Terrace, renovated in 1985, has nine Queen bedded rooms, one King bedded room (above left) and two Twin Single rooms.

The Thames Cottage houses two private rooms (above right) and two luxurious suites with living rooms, all of which overlook the teahouse and surrounding gardens.
