I also live at Valleyview Retirement Est. and agree, it is a very beautiful spot and the neighbours are great. I cannot understand why a landlord would go to such great lengths to destroy something that he worked to build. A number of his tenants want very much to leave here but he insists on blocking them from selling. I wish with all my heart that I had never seen this place. We are all senior and do not need to live our lives out under such stress.

Positives: It is beautiful, quiet and neighbour friendly.

Negatives: Needs new management to survive

We have lived here for some time and find it to be a lovely community to retire in. This is one of the most beautiful communities if not THE best for someone to retire to.
We have no plans in leaving.

Positives: This is a very beautiful picturesque, quiet, clean, well maintained community with many good neighbors.
We are a half hour to Cobourg, and Peterborough, 15 minutes to Campbellford where there is a very good hospital, shopping, banks,etc. as well as Hastings which is 5 minutes away with shopping, bank, pharmacy and the beautiful Trent River system.

Negatives: There are a handful of people who like to create problems and are being dealt with. This is normal in any community.

I live at Valleyview. It is a lovely community. I enjoy living here and don't plan to move any time soon. The previous review is filled with lies and hatred. There are a few residents that live here that have nothing better to do than to cause trouble. The owner is working hard to get them out so that the rest of us can continue to live in our community in peace.

This is an attractive location on Kilbrin Lake just south of the village of Hastings. The lake has a swamp on all sides and the park is down a dirt road that isn't very well maintained by the township. The people who live in the community seem very pleasant but at the same time seem very anxious and nervous. I would suggest that anyone entertaining moving here, have the land lease examined by an attorney first to avoid making the biggest mistake of your life.

Positives: Nice little lake but no beach or swimming. Good for bird watching as the geese, herons and the occassional swan land or nest. The people are nice, but almost everyone seems to want to leave.

Negatives: The allegeded owner (Roy) is extremely abrasive, verbally abusive, potentially violent, harrassing and runs the community like a WWII concentration camp, I have experienced this first hand and witnessed this behavior personally. Some residents have had to leave under doctors orders because of the verbal abuse and some have suffered nervous breakdowns. Changes in rental/utility/tax rates happen often with no proof and based on the whims of the owner. Last year the electricity was shut off due to the owners non-payment of the communal eletricity bill which pronpted people in the community to retain legal council and start an action (some of the people are on oxygen). I would never come back here unless the management changed.

I am currently living here with my wonderful wife!!! we have lived here, yes for a short peroid of time, but during that time have loved all the many hours spent, in our beautiful, peaceful location! The views are breath taking, and most of the people in the park are very nice, and friendly!!

1. the power to the park WASN"T CUTT OFF LAST YEAR!!!!! it was cutt off to ONE HOUSE!!! but was fixed in a short peroid of time....

2. THE LANDLORD ISN'T TRYING TO BLOCK PEOPLE FROM SELLING THEIR HOMES!! people that are posting such rumers and lies are blocking themselves from selling!!!

YOU BE THE JUDGE!! DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!

come down and check out the park for yourself!!! 9 times out of 10 your own judgement is the best!

because i live here, i looked into further detail myself!!!!!!!!!!!! don't let lies get to the best of you, because people have their own opinion! check it out yourself!!!

Positives: privacy, incredable views, friendly people, beauty of nature!
shopping locations within short distances, 50+ retirement community (no noisy teenagers!)

Negatives: silly people bad mouthing, spreading lies across the internet!!
