We are open every day of the year - an ideal destination for a business trip, weekend getaway or longer vacation. Reservations are recommended, but not always necessary.

The family owned Breakers on the Lake is in an ideal location on the shoreline of Lake Ontario on the east side of Cobourg’s Victoria Beach. While you’re here, enjoy our sandy beach available exclusively to our guests. Shaded lawns border the beach while gentle surf rolls in and gently changing hues of the lake make a picture postcard.

Nearby restaurants include Hoo Lee Gardens Chinese Restaurant, Ginger Thai Cuisine, Cucina Urbana Italian Kitchen And Wine Bar, and Oasis Bar & Grill.

We stayed at Breakers in May 2023 for one night in room 8, two double beds. Below is our experience with this room. I have no idea if other rooms have room upgrades and/or updates, but this is our honest review for this room. I hope it helps travellers choose a place to stay. I also hope the owners take feedback seriously. I rarely bother to write reviews but feel this property has so much potential and just needs more investment and TLC.

Positives: Location, location, location!
- spacious rooms, nice beach and water views (depending on what rooms you book)
- nice grounds, nothing elaborate but pleasant, and quiet surroundings

Negatives: Unsupportive, soft beds, ended up with back pain
- room too warm , pilot light on fireplace on all night with no option to turn off
-overhead fan dated and noisy
-one of our two windows was broken , could not open
