Check in was pleasant enough, and the young lady who took our booking did comment that the room was small. The; room was EXTREMELY small. Queen sized bed, as promised, but mattress TERRIBLE. Very uncomfortable. Room smelled stuffy; Window air conditioner worked, but noisy; because of a/c we couldn't open window in bedroom. Tried to open window in bathroom - nothing to hold it up with. No-one around to talk to about the bed when we were up the next morning. Breakfast across the road was very good - top marks for taste and service. For the amount we were charged ($160 for two people, one night) we expected a decent sized room with a good mattress. All of the accomodation in Bayfield seems to be aimed at wealthy Americans - there don't seem to be any reasonably-priced alternatives. We certainly don't mind paying that money if the accomodations are enjoyable - in this case, they certainly weren't.
