Azilda is a community within the former town of Rayside-Balfour and was once known as Ste-Azilda, until it was discovered that there was no saint by that name. It gets its name from Azilda Bélanger, the first female pioneer of the area and wife of François Bélanger. The community borders the eastern shore of Whitewater Lake. Places to eat in the region include Algoma Tavern, Aisle Nine, 2 Thumbs Up, and Chew's Restaurant.
