Located at 948 3rd Avenue West. A National Historic Site, the boyhood home of Billy Bishop has permanent exhibits on his life and career, focusing on the military accomplishments of Bishop and other Canadian Aviators. Artifacts include uniforms, medals, photos, models and more. Step back into the late 19th and early 20th century as you view original Victorian furnishings, antiques and personal possessions of Billy Bishop and the his family. Visit “The Hanger” Gift Shop which is onsite and open during museum hours. Located at 183 Marsh. 3000 square feet of art, over 600 paintings, over 30 artists, continuous exhibitions and special art shows. Loft Gallery is owned and operated by Debra Carroll and Phil McCormack. They opened the gallery in Clarksburg in the Town of the Blue Mountains in 2006 and have enjoyed being a part of the community of Clarksburg. Phil is the President of the Clarksburg Business Association. Debra Lynn Carroll is the artist in Residence with her studio adjacent to Loft Gallery. Clarksburg has become such a strong artist’s community that it is lovingly referred to as Artsburg, named by local artist Bill Hartman (Bill is now fondly remembered and greatly missed by Debra and Phil and all the members of the arts community). In July of 2009 Clarksburg will celebrate its third annual Artsburg Day on Saturday July 18. Come help us all celebrate the arts related businesses in Clarksburg. Loft Gallery’s primary focus is local landscape paintings and also includes a wide variety of art including abstract, non-objective and whimsical paintings and rock sculpture. Each Summer Loft Gallery will host the Bruce Trail and Escarpment Exhibition. . a special show held for three weeks to celebrate the Bruce Trail and the work of artists from across the province.
