Dooly's New Minas

Chester Playhouse
Located at 22 Pleasant Street. The village of Chester is a seaside resort with a small year round population that more than doubles in July and August. The Chester Playhouse, on the main street, was originally a movie theatre built in 1938 and converted for live entertainment in 1963 when the Chester Jesters presented the first summer productions on stage.
Chester Golf Club
Located at 222 Golf Course Road. A beautiful point of land in Mahone bay, east of the Village of Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada, was designed by the forces of nature for a lovely golf course. prescott's Point is relatively level. An evergreen forest along fairways, with the blue waters of Mahone Bay along the shore line, provide natural sanctuary for out-door lovers.
Avon River Heritage Museum
Located at 17 Belmont Road. Our museum features exhibits on the New England Planters, local house histories, family histories as well as Avon River ecology, and geology. Our guides and volunteers are ready to answer any questions you may have. If you’re hungry for more than history, relax and enjoy a scenic lunch overlooking the Avon River at our Café. Souvenirs and locally-handcrafted gifts are available from our SeaChest Giftshop. If you time it right, you can also watch the Minas Basin tidal bore from the highest tides in the world, the Bay of Fundy.
