Porters Lake is a residential community in the eastern shore region of the Halifax Region of Nova Scotia. It is situated between Trunk 7 and Route 207, 27 km from Halifax. The community is built around the lake from which it takes its name. The residents mainly commute to jobs in Dartmouth, Burnside Industrial Park or in Downtown Halifax. Things to see and do
Located at 33 Sackville Drive. Fultz House Museum is located at the intersection between Old Sackville Road, Sackville Drive and Cobequid Road in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. The museum is open to the public Monday through Sunday during July and August from 10 am to 5 pm. Fultz House does not charge admission, although donations are always welcome!
Fisherman's Cove Marine Interpretive Centre
Located at 30 Government Wharf Road. Only 20 minutes from Downtown Halifax, Fisherman's Cove is one of Nova Scotia's oldest and newest tourist destinations. Enjoy the sounds of the ocean and views that'll have you stopping for another roll of film. Watch the fishermen come in with their daily catch; you can buy their fish right here! Take a boat ride and explore McNabs Island. You can also learn the great history of Fisherman's Cove by enjoying a historic walk of the area.
