Hudson's Hope is a district municipality in northeastern British Columbia in the Peace River Regional District. It covers an area of 927 square kilometers (357. Having been first settled in 1805, it is the third oldest community in the province, although it was not incorporated until 1965. Its main economic support is the nearby W. A. C. Bennett Dam and Peace Canyon Dam, as well as timber logging.

Dinosaur Lake was created when the Peace Canyon Dam was finished in 1980. The campground was opened in 1983. Dinosaur Lake was named for the fossils of dinosaur footprints that were covered when the area was flooded. 50 dry sites, privies, firewood, cooking boxes, swimming, hiking trails, .....
