Firefighters' Museum of Nova Scotia ( Art & Culture / Museums ). Located at 451 Main Street, Yarmouth. Imagine the clang of the fire bell, the smell of smoke and the feel of hot steam as firefighters race to save close-built houses: the world of the firefighter in a province made of wood. You don't have to be a firefighter to appreciate the Firefighters' Museum of Nova Scotia in Yarmouth. Antique auto enthusiasts especially enjoy the important collection of vintage equipment: the pumpers, hose wagons, and ladder trucks--not to mention the 1863 Amoskeag Steamer, one of the oldest surviving steamers in Canada. Even though these fire trucks had long service careers before being retired, they're all in excellent condition. It only stands to reason. Firefighters routinely risk their lives. As a consequence, they take great pains to ensure the equipment they depend on is in good running order.

Of special interest at Captain Kelley's is the 188-year-old hand-carved solid oak eighteen-foot "Captain's Table" available for parties of eight to ten persons, in a private dining area. The English-style pub with stained glass windows is a favourite meeting place for young and old. Along with a wonderfully varied menu, Kelley's offers in-house entertainment and is close to shopping and many major local attractions. Year-round. Daily, in season 7:00am-10:00pm; off-season, 10:00am-8:00pm

Yarmouth Links ( Sports / Activity / Golf ). Located at 28 Forbes Street, Yarmouth. Tucked into the southwest corner of the Province, this charming links-style layout offers a panoramic view of the local lighthouse and ocean. At first glance, the openness of the course leads one to believe that low scores are the norm. However, the rolling fairways, small lightning fast greens and unpredictable ocean breezes all combine to provide a true challenge for any golfer. This club was established in the early 1800's and operated as a nine hole course until the mid 1990's when the new nine was opened for play in 1995. Yarmouth is one of the Province's oldest courses. While playing Yarmouth course you will be treated to great views of the Atlantic Ocean. The course is fairly wide open but the small greens will make up for this as accurate approach shots will be required. www.yarmouthlinks.com Link
