Very nice older hotel. Clean and well kept. Great central spot for entertainment and shopping. Friendly and courteous staff and excellent room service.
Positives: Front lobby is nice.
Negatives: Long cumbersome corridors.

I would say that the hotel met my expectations and was a nice place to stay. The only draw back for us first timers to Edmonton was access to other tourist attractions and lack of info regarding travel times or transportation to tourist entertainment outside of the WEM! Thanks for asking!

Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The furnishings were quite basic, but perfectly adequate. Staff was variable - efficient and met all requests, but the evening staff could have been a tad warmer and friendlier. The hallways are bizarre - decorated in a very modern style with lots of concrete. Reminded my friend of a prison block, and reminded me of a video shoot-em-up game with lots of corners around which I half expected to see laser-toting aliens emerge. That aside, Id recommend the hotel as a reasonably priced, clean and comfortable place - and I had no issues with noise.

Rooms are small and cheaply done. No sound proofing. Claimed to have a shuttle to the mall but when we inquired it turns out they will call you a taxi which will cost $7.00 each way. The fitness room they brag about is 4 machines shoved into a small room and an empty shelf where the TV should be. The spa is freezing cold and the hot tubs are turned off and covered. Probably because they don't have any heat in the room. I guess they think they are in Florida not Edmonton in Jan. Will never stay here again and would not recommend it to others.
Positives: Food in restaurant is good.
Negatives: Cheaply furnished rooms with lots of noise from hallway, a joining rooms and doors opening and closing.

Better location for leisure traveler (near mall), but worked well for me. Room was very nice, staff helpful. I liked the security of the executive wing very much. I would stay here again for a multi-day stay, just one night would not let you sample everything here.
Positives: Comfortable bed.
Negatives: Few glitches with mechanics, I.E. Ice machine, not enough hot water on Sun.
