Crystal Beach campground is an older park with lots of seasonal campers on property. They also offer many transient sites for those looking for 1 to more nights, many right on the water's edge. Those sites are very narrow, barely enough room for your unit and slides before you're in to the next space. The seasonal folks seem to have larger lots, but they're set back from the water, so maybe that's the compromise. However, everyone decorates their lot in their own style and there's a real mishmash of fences, decks, landscaping, etc - give a trashy feel as one walks about.
When we arrived, no one was in the office and sign said to pick out any site you wanted and to come back at 2. help finally showed up at 5 to check us in. we asked the desk person 2 different questions with regards to things to see / do in the area. This person had no idea of suggestions for either issue.
Roads were paved, but over the years have fallen into disrepair and many holes are hiding, waiting for your tires to fall in. They claim the property is mosquito controlled - yep, the mosquitos were in control while we were there. They'd chase us back indoors as the sun was setting (which is beautiful over Malpeque Bay).
Campground claims they have free WiFi, good luck getting and keeping the signal - you might have it for 5 minutes or it might take 10 for your computer to find it.
For kids they have a pool and playground and were building a water spray platform (mist rings and mini fountains to run through I guess).
During the week the place was quiet, but towards the weekend it got noisey with the crowds coming in. Place is pet friendly but many of the seasonal's dogs were not always on leash - and we watched in disgust as a seasonal walked away from their dog's dropping, never to come back and pick it up - right near the kids' playground area also.
We stayed here for 4 nights on a discount camping rate.

Comments: Washrooms were not clean and some of the toilets did not work and it is a party all night long campground and no peace and quiet at night at all.
