I liked it for a short stay.

Positives: It was clean.

Negatives: A little too business traveler orientated.

This is a very nice hotel, great location, staff was super helpful and the rooms are well taken care of. The free breakfast is an apparent hit, maybe because it is free, but it can get crowded in the last hour. I recommend going earlier. The food is standard breakfast fare and the coffee is quite good. The staff that work these deserve accolades as they work their butts off while retaining composure with impatient guests. Elevators are small and slow, workout room is where the pool used to be and is a large space with little equipment, but if you want a run and some average workout to wear off the beer, it is great.

Positives: Great location, free breakfast, and efficiency.

Negatives: Tight areas like closet and bathroom. Banged my toes so bad reaching into closet!

This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel. The front desk was friendly and the housekeeping staff is very efficient. There are only about 10 rooms to each floor so the hotel was nice and quiet. These rooms are big and attractive. My room had a small kitchen area that including a full sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, etc. Ample counter space in the bathroom for toiletries. I don't have any complaints about the room or staff. My only complaint is the parking situation. You have to pass the hotel and go behind it to the underground lot. Normally this is not a problem, but the hotel isn't attached to the garage. So you have to leave the garage, go around the corner to the front entrance of the hotel. I suppose one can drop their bags off in front of the hotel first but it's tough to get a spot there. And the hotel charges $21/night for parking. For that arrangement, I feel $15 should be more suited. Overall, I'd stay here again.

Positives: Small kitchen in every room. Rooms are nice and clean.

Negatives: Parking is a bit expensive and inconvenient.

Positives: Enjoyed the kitchen facilities and close proximity to downtown.

Negatives: Elevators were much to small. Barely fit 2 people with luggage.

All the other front desk clerks were friendly (aside from the one who greeted us). Kudos for the man in dining room on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, very helpful, friendly, and efficient too!

Positives: The breakfast buffet and service during breakfast was great, also a free dinner buffet 2 nights.

Negatives: Greeted on arrival by aggressive clerk, felt uncomfortable, cold room, asked for 2 blankets, got 1.

Great gateway to Parc Mont Royal, McGill University, Downtown, Old town. The rooms are quite large and come with kitchenette; the room I had would have slept a family of six. View from Terrace is nice.

Positives: Great location, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast was high quality and

Negatives: Good hotel, but probably would never pay. name your own price.

Overall, a decent hotel and adequately rated as a 3* hotel. I like the full kitchen, living area with sofa and dining area table. I was a bit perturbed that the front desk receptionist that checked me in was a bit snippy at me when I inquired about getting a king sized bed, even a queen sized bed would have been fine but two doubles are not what I was looking for and from his attitude when I asked there was not going to be any change from my double beds so I just dealt with it. Another female front desk employee was also on the miserable side. Dark haired overweight girl was just not very helpful or friendly at all! Other than those two rude employees all was good.

Positives: Location and room size and amenities with free Internet.

Negatives: Desk employee was a bit snippy when I asked about requesting a king bed.

The hotel was located in a perfect downtown location, easy to get around. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was large and very clean with a kitchen. Breakfast buffet was better than continental but not great.

Positives: Location! Great staff, big clean room.

Negatives: Mattress too hard for my arthritis. Breakfast just OK.

The hotel was clean and comfortable but I was hoping that there would be closer parking and possibly a restaurant and pool. I should have looked up what I was getting with what rating.

Positives: I really liked the location, especially how it was so close to shopping.

Negatives: The parking for the hotel was located at the side of the hotel which was not convenient.

Pleasant surprise for a 2 1/2 star. Large, clean rooms with good linens. Kitchenette was a great bonus. Can't beat the location if you're looking to shop St. Catharine's Street. A great overall experience; would definitely stay there again.

Positives: Great location; large rooms with functional kitchenette.

Negatives: No central air in rooms but there are window units; they are very loud though but work well.

The room was fairly spacious; bed comfortable; bathroom clean; staff friendly, and service was excellent. There was healthy, free breakfast (not sure if it is always free). Hotel is within walking distance to Metro; hence good (but not the best because locations in old Montreal are better) location for sight seeing. Parking is a bit expensive @ $25/night.

Positives: Convenient location, friendly staff, cleanliness, healthy breakfast.

Negatives: Expensive parking.

The breakfasts were well stocked and the staff did their best to keep up with the crowd of people. Maybe extending the time would help but seats were hard to come by. Room was excellent with everything I could need. Bathroom lighting was a bit dim. I think all hotels in cities have inadequate elevator service and this was no exception, long waits, have to expect it. Parking was down the street and around the corner, not connected to hotel so not accessible.

Positives: Location, excellent room, breakfast included.

Negatives: Breakfast was busy, elevators small, parking not convenient.

Residence Inn Montreal Downtown is a very impressive hotel with a lot going for it. It is listed as 2 1/2 stars but I would rate it higher. The cleanliness is impressive, the entire staff quite friendly and helpful, the included breakfast is a valuable bonus. Very central location quite close to the metro. I highly recommend and would enjoy staying there again myself.

Positives: Super clean, great breakfast, location!, very friendly staff, overall outstanding.

Negatives: Bathroom small in comparison with rest of room but clean and functional.

Great hotel especially for such price. Great staff. Very helpful. Amazing location. Although the hotel has 2 problems: good breakfast but always the same. It is never changing. Another one is the parking. $15 a day parking with valet. My opinion - it's not very convenient. Overall, very good hotel!

Positives: Free wireless internet in your room.

This centrally located hotel had the charm and intimacy of a boutique hotel belying its exceptional cost. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated with a well supplied kitchenette. We would stay there again if we had the chance!

Positives: Perfect down town location, extremely friendly, and helpful staff.
