Centrally located on Nova Scotia's South Shore, the Anchorage is within easy reach of sandy beaches, well known fishing villages, antique and craft shops, lobster pounds, restaurants and golfing. Hubbards, has a central shopping area with a convenience store, liquor outlet, bank, hardware store, and supermarket, and also has a community library, medical center and post office, "ALL" your needs in one convenient location.
We are ideally situated to provide a base for exploring Nova Scotia's most beautiful coastline including the undiscovered Aspotogan Peninsula. Hubbards located on the scenic Lighthouse Route, is only 30 minutes from Halifax, Lunenburg, and Peggy's Cove, and the Annapolis Valley is less than an hour away. Hubbards is the summer home of many festive occasions, the "Anchorage" will give you convenient access as these events unfold. BBQ, play volleyball, paddle around beautiful Hubbards Cove, stroll to the beach or just relax and enjoy the beautiful view. Interested in sailing, deep-sea fishing or sea coast tours? All accommodations are comfortable and well appointed. Each cottage has a private deck area with BBQ, some units with fireplace (new electric) and/or whirlpool.
Accommodations include; thirteen cozy cottages, new or completely renovated in 2001, and all with fully equipped kitchens for those extended stays, one sleeping cabin plus the Anchorage main building which has 4 rooms all with private bathrooms, including King Suite with 6' whirlpool tub and fireplace and a queen suite with kitchenette and fireplace.
Directions - Arriving From Historic Halifax (approximately 50km - 30 minutes)
Take highway 102 North (Outbound) from Bayers Road, Exit 1A to (Yarmouth, South Shore) stay on exit 1A directly into 103 West. Take Exit 6 from 103 to Hubbards turn left on Highway 3 approximately 3km (2mi) on the right you will come to the end of Hubbards Cove. Turn right and cross a small bridge, keep right on the Shore Club Road, we are on the left 3 houses past the Church.
Arriving From Halifax, NS Airport (approximately 60km - 40 minutes)
Take Highway 102 South through Bedford to Exit 1A to Highway 103 West, then follow above directions to Hubbards from Exit 1A.
Arriving From The Annapolis Valley - Digby and the ferry terminal from Saint John, NB(approximately 200km - 2.5hrs) From Highway 101 take Route 12 or 14 to Highway 103 East to exit 6 and follow directions from above.
Arriving From Yarmouth and the Ferry Terminal from Bar Harbor, Maine, USA(approximately 300km - 3hrs) Take Highway 103 East to exit 6 from 103 to Highway 3. Turn left on Highway 3 approximately 3km (2mi) on the right you will come to the end of Hubbards Cove. Turn right and cross a small bridge, keep right on the Shore Club Road, we are on the left 3 houses past the Church.
