This place is beautiful with all the clean lots and shower house. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Trails for walking or biking are endless. Great people in the park friendly and curtious. Had a great weekend.
Positives: Clean showers
The campground is under NEW OWNERSHIP as of May 2016. Wendy and Chris (the new owners) are a breath of fresh air! The biggest obstacle they face, is dealing with the negativity from the former owners, I have read the reviews on this site and there is no doubt in my mind that these unfortunate events happened.
It is a new season, a new era. Wendy and Chris are people people, They are campers, they know what campers want. It is noticeably different the attitude they have towards all who use the campground. It is a destination I highly recommend!
Positives: Great beach, nice sites with plenty of trees. Shower house is clean and bright. Miles and miles of ATV trails just outside the camp entrance. Boat rentals available for fishing or just touring Lake Talon.
the owners are awful!! they are mean! they yell at you even your guests get yelled at! He may talk to his wife this way but this is no way to treat customers. My parents will not even come out to visit anymore because of him!! They don't let you do anything. No upgrades to kids playground. If you ask to get trees trimmed you are annoying them. Please do not go to this park it is not a friendly family campground at all!!!
Positives: The regular campers are nice!!!!
Negatives: the owners are all negative! if you drive to fast he comes out yelling at you!! Not nice words either. He will kick anyone out for fast driving. kicks people off the beach that stop in for a swim meanwhile the beach and shoreline are not his property but he thinks it is.
We were staying in a cottage on Lake Talon. Earlier in the week we went to investigate this campsite as we saw the beach from the water. We meet the lady and she explained the procedures ( $4 / adult and park your car in the upper parking area)and we were welcome to return to use the beach but to register at the front desk. We returned later in the week for a beach day but no one was in the office, so we left our license plate numbers on a piece of paper at the front door indicating where we were. About an hour later a man came and started telling us to get off the property as we were trespassing. We tired to explain but no he said get off the property. He said a few insulting things about the military and that the military people are disrespectful, etc.. We quickly packed up and left as he was very angry and would not listen to anything we said. We gave him the money, no receipt and left
Positives: Nice beach
Negatives: Inhospitable male who think was one of the owners but as he did not identify himself we still are not sure. Certainly not the type of welcome that the lady implied we would receive upon our next visit. I guess that is our last visit
Clean park but facilities were little dirty, went to questions a few times and no toilet paper, no soap or paper towl, middle of afternoon. Had a fellow tell me that the owner approached her about cleaning her own hair from the drains in the bathroom showers stating she had to do it and assuming the hair was only from the one camper. Found glass on the grounds where the kids played at the park. The speed limit is definately 10th as my brother in law was chased and stairs by the owners assuming he was doing over 10. He has not asked yet to come back and owns and operates his own successful goodness and states no customer should ever have to endure such behavior from the owners. You pay good money to have a relaxing get away at your trailer and you get dropped on right at the gate with assumptions that your speeding........
Positives: Nice lake...
Negatives: The park owner parked our trailer for us I do not suggest this as he almost broke ours in half...my husband yelled at him and said hey thought someone said you could park a trailer.and he just dropped it where it was half on another seasonal lot.
Campground is nice and clean. If you don't mind a lunitic of an owner and nickel and dimers this is the place for you. We were there for a week and it was very pleasant till my friends wife did 15km's/hr instead of 10 km/hr, this is the owners estimate, and then he absolutely lost it. Way beyond the believable. I spoke with several of the seasonals that remain and found this to be a common occurance. Again, nice place but be ready for a confrontation with a lunitic.
