Positives: FHU, location, quiet & relaxing for us
Negatives: No campstore for groceries or RV supplies.
We arrived without reservations during early June - low season. Were given our choice of sites and after looking them over made our choice. FHU 30 amp. All sites come with fire rings and picnic tables. Some sites are wider and/or longer than others - we're a 35' fifth wheel so we needed long.
Campground has over 70 sites, 1/2 are FHU, the others are W/E only. they do have a dump station. Some sites are in the trees, most are open. All sites are backin - no pull thru.
Because it was low season, only 10% of the sites were utilitzed most nights we stayed (weekends did do a bit better). We stayed for 10 nights, using the campground as our base while touring the Cabot Trail and the community of Baddeck and Sydney NS.
Campground was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing for us. They have an outdoor pool but it wasn't open for the season yet - minor maitenance being done on the deck area. Also has a small playground for children (slide, swing and seesaws). Bathhouse is clean and spacious. Showers are free. Laundry room has 4 washers and 4 dryers.
Manager was only staff we saw daily, although there were a few others in and out doing odd jobs (paint, mow, etc). She was very informative on activities or destinations for us to see.
We would stay here again in a heart beat.
Only gave it 9 out of 10 as they don't have a camp store (do sell firewood), no function hall for potluck or gathering type events.
