Positives: Beautiful beach
Playground and snack shack by the beach
Shooting range across the lake
The lake is incredible!!! Fabulous beach!
This doesn't quite make up for the campsites that are incredibly close together (RVs had just enough space between them to walk between or were throwing distance from each other) and tenting/non hookup sites were a short hop, a leap and a skip from the overcrowded RVs. So while RVers could go into their trailers for some peace and quiet, the car was our only solace from the racket conjured by having so many people in one area.
Quiet time is after 11 but there didn't seem to be much enforcement around that.
There is also no mention of the shooting range just across the lake from the campground.
If you are looking for a party hardy time on the lake and don't mind sharing a space with a bunch of other like minded folk, this is a great place!
If you are looking for an escape from all the noise and hubbub of the city, I strongly recommend somewhere not on a lake that has motorized boats, cabins with people who listen to techno until 4 in the morning (somewhere else on the lake - sound travels incredibly well over water), shooting range that has uncontrolled hours of operation, and a campground that packs as many people as they can get away with in a relatively small area. Come use the beautiful day use area, but camp elsewhere!
