Mackenzie Municipal Campground & RV Park

Mackenzie, British Columbia

Mackenzie Municipal Campground & RV Park is a campground located in Mackenzie. Mackenzie's serene location in the Northern Rocky Mountain Trench, two hours north of Prince George, provides strategic access to a resource planning area larger than Vancouver Island. Excellent air, ground, rail, and marine transportation links are the methods of access to a hotbed of mining potential, forestry operations, and adventure tourism opportunity. While Mackenzie's economy is primarily dependent on the forest industry, local companies have also benefited from servicing the mining exploration and development sector.

Positives: Adjacent to convenient walking trails.

Negatives: When we inquired about wifi being down, staff acted like we were a major inconvenience. This is a service you are apparently paying for here, but it was not addressed as such. It appears the park runs itself, so issues guests have may be ignored (?) -- this was our impression, anyway.

Comments: Very overpriced for what you get; located next to municipal dog pound, so very loud. Unsavory trailer park borders other side with lots of police activity. Lot sizes irregular; a few suit rvs, most are cramped. Appears to be a good cash-grab for the town, with minimal maintenance and upkeep in exchange for your fees. No posted speed limits and many disrespectful locals racing through the site after using the sani-dump and overflowing garbage. Expect to be dusted out.
