Comments: Did not feel safe at this campground. First impression was not good!!! Not one tree in the whole campground. Campsites need some work. Sewer smell was gross. If you want to sleep at night this is not the place to stay...planes flying overhead and the busy highway is right out your door practically. Took a loss and packed up and left, if this is how they make their money they are ripping good people off!! Will never stay here.

Positives: close to the cities
Negatives: pipe yard behind the campground
Comments: OMG.... the bathrooms are soooooo gross..foaming stuff coming from the drain in the showers, bath looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months...very gross. Toilets turning yellow, garbages over flowing. And the smell of sewer is so gross, my kids didn't even want to go outside to play. The managers let their big dog run around scaring everyone and then they gave us a note stating that if our dog poops anywhere and we don't clean up, we will be asked to leave...we didn't even have a dog with us. Went to ask the managers to put more toilet paper in the women's washroom and all I could smell coming out of the house was a strong smell of pot...will never stay here again.

Comments: Boil water order two summers in a row ... because sewer leaking into water table. Campground is perfectly centered between a steel pipe company, which begins dropping pipes about 7 am, 6 days per week, a railroad track, and the #2 highway, so peace and quiet will not be a feature of your stay here. It is convenient to Calgary and the least expensive that we know of in the area, but the "playground" is unappealing, looks unstable, and the merry-go-round appears to be a hazard. We have stayed in several other campgrounds in the Calgary area and will not be staying at Whispering Spruce again.
