Positives: Friendly staff. Good location.
Negatives: Felt old and dated. Slow, single elevator. Expensive.
Comments: This hotel is in a great area. Whole foods around the corner. Walking distance to sky train which is wonderful. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help. The hotel has seen better days. Room was
ok, but nothing special. Clean and comfortable. Free wireless and free time on their computer.

Positives: User friendly.
Comments: It was very convenient for us and noiseless.

Positives: I was going in for a procedure at a nearby hospital, so this hotel's location was perfect.
Negatives: The bathroom needed upgrading.
Comments: The hotel was fine, although I have received better discounts in different cities through Priceline.

Positives: Friendly staff and located within easy walking distance to good resturants
Negatives: I thought for the overall rating the rooms were a little tired and small.
Comments: The hotel staff was friendly, but the shuttle service is not free and needs to be booked in advanced of checking in. It is close to several very good resturants, but a little far from some of the other city attractions.

Positives: Location, room and amenities.
Negatives: Staff was not flexible and indiferent. Not very accomodating.
Comments: Overall the location was great except for one main drawback (look for my remarks at the end). The hotel is within walking distance of port if you are taking a cruise. Room was very nice and clean, with a great view. Great place to stay, however we did not get the type of room we requested and staff was indiferent to my concern. A take it or leave it attitude.

Positives: Loved the location. Easy walk to nearby stores. No need for car rental.
Negatives: Shower was not completely clean. Long black hair stuck on tile was dry. made me vomit.
Comments: Was very impressed when entering for the very first time. Everything looked clean and well cared for. The room was just spacious. Plenty of room to move around and gorgeous view of the city especially at night time. Only one set back. The shower. There was something stuck on the tile on the shower area. Was not sure what it was, but I used a pen to see if it was marked up or whatever. Turned out to be hair. Long black hair about 12 inches long and about 3 inches wide. Just stuck there. Not sure how the maid missed this. But I was appealed by it. Did not use the shower and had to sponge bathe. We only stayed one night as we just finished our tour to Alaska. The hotel staff was excellent. Very knowledgeable and eager to tell us what we wanted to know. Not sure I would stay there again because of the shower incident. Of all the questions, no one asked about the bathroom. Other friend in another room, stated she could not get the shower to work. Had to take a bath. So we both experienced a bathroom situation.

Positives: Staff was helpful - they tried to compensate for not being close to the tourist area and downtown - by providing a one way shuttle.
Negatives: Not in the general downtown area.
Comments: The staff were accomodating and helpful - it was not their fault that the hotel is not located in a good shopping or sightseeing area.

Positives: The restaurant.
Negatives: Extra charges for everything. Terrible service.
Comments: This hotel charged extra for everything. It was not busy and they would not provide a room with a fridge or balcony without extra charges. By the time we left, we could've stayed at a much nicer hotel for the same price. Parkade/elevator was very dirty.

Positives: My daughter loved the pool and view.
Negatives: Needs updating and remodeling.
The pool and view were very nice. With some updating of the rooms, decoration and so forth, this could be a nice place to stay. The location isn't bad, just five minutes or so from the heart of Vancouver, Stanley Park and other tourist areas.
. Elevators are a bit slow when there are lots of guests, but overall, I'd recommend the hotel for those on a budget.

Positives: The dining staff clearly happy and friendly.
Negatives: Room by pop machine and elevator and smelled like smoke.
Comments: The room I stayed in needs a renovation. Past dated wall paper and dirty smoke detector. Clearly room used to be smoking when requested non-smoking. The ceiling was dirty and window is single pane allowing street sounds disturb sleep.

Positives: Convenient location, friendly staff & cleaners are good, open view and quiet even though on the main road.
Negatives: Overall lighting need to brighten up, especially lobby of every floor.
Comments: I & my family enjoyed during our stay. Convenient location, easy to take bus especially my daughter going to UBC (University of British Columbia) and I notice lots of her friends happened to stay in same hotel at the same period also. Only if can improve a little decoration to brighten the whole image will be perfect. I will come again definitely if I come to Vancouver.

Positives: Really nice views.
Negatives: Not very near shopping & attractions.
Comments: Our room was on the 7th floor and had very nice views. The room was larger than average and nicely decorated. There were good restaurants and coffee shops nearby. This hotel is not near any of the tourist attractions of Vancouver. The Granville Island shopping area is nearest, about a mile away.
Mon 25 Aug 2008
Positives: They had laundry room with decent prices, close to convenient shopping & food.
Negatives: Staff could have been a little friendlier.
Comments: Great location for Vancouver, not downtown but in a safe area close to lots of small restaurants, coffee shops and drug stores. This hotel also had free wireless. The three other hotels that I stayed at in Vancouver and surrounding areas said wireless but for an additional high price per 24 hours. It's located near lots of major bus stops so getting around without a car is very easy. The hotel staff could have been a little friendlier, but other than that good hotel, great view, great location.
Tue 19 Aug 2008
Negatives: Worn out 60's/70's hotel.
Comments: This is a disaster hotel. It is worn out, cheesy and not in downtown.
Mon 18 Aug 2008
Positives: Staff was nice; decent eateries and Charleston Park nearby.
Negatives: Difficult location without car.
Comments: Older Holiday Inn property and not in downtown. Breakfast buffet available ($12), several good alternatives within a block. Very nice staff. Panoramic view and excellent sunset from pool level balcony (pool is inside) as well as from room. On same side of bridge as Granville Island (15-20 minute walk) but a good $15-20 cab ride to Stanley Park and other sites.
Tue 12 Aug 2008
Positives: Location and lounge staff was very friendly.
Negatives: Staff was difficult about payment methods.
Comments: The hotel was clean and in a accessible location. Staff in lounge were very friendly. Reception staff was adequate but could have been more helpful.
Fri 01 Aug 2008
Positives: Clean, nice pool, great view, good parking.
Negatives: Blurry TV.
Comments: Loved the location of the hotel, it is not in downtown but has a great view, many restaurants in the area, beer store across the street. Safe parking, clean rooms and pool.
Wed 09 Jul 2008
Positives: Convenient location.
Negatives: Air conditioner was noisy and fan didn't work. Had to call room service and they didn't have anyone to help us.
Comments: Pathetic customer service. No AC/noisy fan meant sleepless night and no offer to move rooms or repair in time.
Wed 02 Jul 2008
Positives: The location was good for us.
Negatives: Found mold on my breakfast pastries.
Comments: The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. They treated us as if we were very special. The rooms were inviting and clean. The housekeeping staff was so quick to clean our room, it was done by the time we came back from breakfast. The pool was not very warm, but it felt good on a hot day. All in all, a very nice experience.
Thu 08 May 2008
Positives: Room service was prompt.
Negatives: Old rooms that needed renovation.
Comments: I will not stay at this hotel. The star rating for this hotel is not adequate to the actual quality of the hotel. No valet service, bell desk service.
Wed 02 Apr 2008
Positives: Location was great; also this is a non smoking hotel which was great.
Negatives: Thin walls, very noisy. Needs updating badly.
Comments: This is a hotel in a great location, lots of shops within walking distance. Staff were very friendly. Hotel charges $9 a night for parking. This hotel could use some upgrading, especially the bedding.
